Chapter 160 He’s About to Rise
Nicolas’s call came in again. “What’s going on? I’m throwing a party tonight to celebrate being single again, and you’re not showing up? Don’t tell me I’m not your buddy anymore,” Nicolas said.
Jared was about to reply that even if God showed up tonight, it wouldn’t make a difference; he just wanted to spend the evening with Natasha.
But when he caught the first part of Nicolas’s words, he froze. “Wait, what? Single again?”
Nicolas said with a grin, “I finally divorced Joelle today!” He was back on the market, officially single and ready to mingle.
Jared felt a rush of excitement. “You’re divorced?”
Nicolas grinned, “Yeah, the court just signed off today! I’m finally free! Are you coming tonight to help me celebrate?”
Jared didn’t even hesitate. “Nope!”
Nicolas nearly lost it. “Seriously? I’m finally single again, and you won’t even show up?” Nicolas complained.
Jared snorted. “Yeah, you’re single now, but I’m about to get cuffed. Don’t mess up my good thing.” To Jared, Natasha coming to see him tonight was proof she was starting to accept him.
Now that Nicolas was divorced, Joelle was single again as well. There was a good chance Percy and Natasha would end up splitting.
He was about to make it official, finally stepping up as the real deal. At a moment like this, he had zero time to party with
Nicolas.
Nicolas was caught off guard. “Getting cuffed? So you finally agreed to Harley’s matchmaking and date the Hopkins heiress?”
Jared frowned. “It’s not her!” There was no way he’d ever end up with Lizzie.
Nicolas was confused. “Then who is it?” He wondered, ‘Seriously, what kind of woman could make Jared, who’s always been immune to women, actually want to get into a relationship?’
Jared just grinned, keeping him in suspense. “You’ll find out soon enough.”
As soon as he hung up, the doorbell rang. Jared’s heart skipped a beat. He knew exactly who it was.
Natasha stood at the entrance of his villa. She took a couple of deep breaths. After a moment, she finally reached out and pressed the doorbell.
She was hoping Jared wouldn’t be home right now. ‘If he’s not here, I’ll have a perfect excuse to leave, she thought.
After all, this was the first time Natasha had ever taken the initiative to show up at a guy’s place like this. She was totally clueless about how to handle it.
Naturally, she was extra nervous. But fate clearly wasn’t answering her prayers tonight. She’d barely touched the doorbell before the villa’s door opened.
Jared stood there, tall and commanding, filling the doorway. He looked every bit the aristocrat, refined, handsome, and utterly captivating. His deep-set eyes locked onto her.
Their gazes met, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. Natasha’s heart skipped a beat, her pretty face flushed, and she didn’t even notice.
“Um… I…” Natasha stammered. She lowered her head, embarrassed, and forced a smile.
“Come on in,” Jared said, stepping aside to let her in.
Natasha braced herself and stepped inside. Jared closed the door, and his gaze fixed on her.
Natasha had ditched her office outfit from earlier. Now she was in a pale yellow dress.
The dress made her skin look even smoother. She looked delicate and utterly irresistible.
Jared swallowed hard. He was dying to pull her into his arms and claim her right then and there.
Natasha could feel a burning gaze on her back. She instinctively stole a glance at him.
Jared’s gaze was undeniably possessive, almost predatory. Her chest tightened, and she quickly turned her face away.
“Have you eaten yet?” Jared suddenly asked.
Natasha shook her head. “No.”

“Come here,” Jared said.
Natasha paused for a moment, then followed him into the dining room.
The dining table was loaded with a feast. Natasha looked around; there were at least twenty different dishes. Every dish was a feast for the senses, mouthwatering, aromatic, and beautifully presented.
“There’s so much food!” Natasha couldn’t help but gasp, her eyes wide with surprise. She glanced up at Jared, still in disbelief. No way the two of them could eat all this.
“Just pick whatever you like,” Jared said with a warm smile.
He wasn’t sure what flavors she preferred, so he decided to order a variety of dishes. He just wanted to find out what she really enjoyed eating.
Natasha sat down across from him. She lowered her head, picked up her fork, and took a bite of one of the dishes. To her surprise, it was actually really good.
But as soon as she remembered the real reason she came tonight, her nerves hit her all over again. Her appetite disappeared completely.
She wasn’t here for the food; she was here to end up in his bed.
Natasha just picked at her food, barely eating anything. “I’m done eating!” Natasha said, setting her fork down.
She just wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible. Dinner, what she ate; it all felt irrelevant now.
Jared glanced at Natasha, sitting stiffly across from him, her bowl still mostly untouched. He couldn’t help but frown.
‘Seriously? She barely touched her food, and she’s already calling it quits?’ Jared thought.
“You’d better eat more, or you won’t have the energy for what’s coming,” Jared said, his tone full of meaning.
Natasha instantly picked up on his innuendo, and her ears flushed red. “I’m really full!” she insisted.
“Finish it. If you start whining you’re tired later, don’t expect me to go easy on you,” Jared teased, repeating his order.
Natasha’s cheeks turned bright red, and she instinctively wanted to protest. But she swallowed her retort.
‘Forget it, she thought. ‘Fine, I’ll just eat it.’ She knew all too well how intense Jared could be in bed. If she didn’t eat now, she’d be the one suffering later.
Natasha kept her head down and finished the food in her bowl. Now she was really full.
She thought they could finally get to the main event. But when she looked up, she realized Jared hadn’t touched his bowl at all.
“You didn’t eat a single bite?” Natasha couldn’t help blurting out in surprise. She was almost ready to say, “If you’re not going to eat, let’s just get it done already.”
‘The sooner we get it over with, the better,’ she thought.
Jared just looked at her, his eyes full of meaning. “Come over here and feed me,” Jared said, his tone leaving no room for
