An Affair With The Ceo (Natasha and Jared) novel Chapter 165

Chapter 165 No Thinking About Other Men

Chapter 165 No Thinking About Other Men

Natasha was still half-asleep when a voice kept calling her softly in her ear. She slowly opened her heavy eyelids and met Jared’s eyes, as deep and dark as midnight.

She froze for a moment. Then, all those steamy scenes from the tent earlier came rushing back, catching her completely off guard. She bit her lip, her pretty face instantly flushing bright red.

“Are you hungry? Come on, let’s get something to eat,” Jared said. He chuckled softly, his gaze growing even more tender as he looked at her.

“I want to take a shower first,” Natasha mumbled, barely daring to meet his eyes.

Jared indulgently agreed, “Alright.”

Under Jared’s midnight gaze, Natasha’s heart was pounding wildly, almost out of control. She was afraid that if she lingered even a moment, he’d swallow her up again.

She quickly got out of bed and dashed straight for the bathroom. Back in the tent, Jared had worked her over so thoroughly she actually passed out.

Natasha never would’ve dreamed this man could be so crazy in bed. She always thought he was strictly professional, always so disciplined and in control.

She never would have expected him to be so uninhibited behind closed doors. She deeply regretted giving in and agreeing to be his friend with benefits in the first place.

‘If this is how things are going to be every time, how am I supposed to keep up with him?’ Natasha thought, feeling a little desperate.

Natasha took a quick shower and walked out of the bathroom, and Jared was nowhere to be seen in the bedroom. She let out a quiet sigh of relief.

She grabbed her phone, just wanting to check the time. But to her surprise, all the unread messages were from Percy.

[I’ve already moved out. When are you going to return my handkerchief?]

[Natasha, why aren’t you answering my calls or texts? Are you trying to back out?]

[Do you really have to hang onto something that’s not yours? What’s the point?]

[Don’t try to hide from me, Natasha.]

[Text me back. Now.]

[Give my handkerchief back!]

Natasha was honestly taken aback. Percy had never blown up her phone like this before. He was seriously freaking out about getting that handkerchief back.

Natasha didn’t see that coming at all. But honestly, she hadn’t meant to ignore him today; she and Jared had just agreed to be friends with benefits.

Now that she finally had a steady partner, she could let loose without worrying. She couldn’t help but indulge herself when it came to that.

Jared had just gone at her nonstop in that tent by the beach. After Jared had totally worn her out in the tent, Natasha barely had the strength to move. Texting Percy was the last thing on her mind.

Natasha shot him a quick reply: [Just saw this.]

Percy texted back immediately: [When are you giving my handkerchief back?]

Natasha hesitated for a moment. It was hers to begin with, and she was just reclaiming what belonged to her.

‘Why was Percy freaking out over something so trivial?’ she wondered.

Natasha: [Just come pick it up tomorrow.) She definitely couldn’t give it to him now.

Percy: [Okay, see you tomorrow.] He replied faster than ever, not even a second of hesitation.

After exiting Percy’s chat, Natasha found herself deep in thought. ‘Should I just tell Percy the handkerchief is mine, not Joelle’s? Would he lose it if he found out?’

Just as Natasha was hesitating, the door suddenly swung open. Jared had come in to get her for dinner. But instead, he found her staring at her phone, looking deep in thought.

“Who are you chatting with?” Jared asked, his eyes locked on her.

Natasha quickly turned off her phone screen. She looked up, trying to steady herself. “N-no one.”

She’d already closed out of Percy’s chat, so she really shouldn’t have felt guilty at all. Yet whenever she was around Jared, she couldn’t help feeling a little uneasy for some reason.

They’d agreed to be just friends with benefits. He wasn’t her boyfriend, and he sure wasn’t her husband. Who she texted or chatted with was none of his business.

‘Just because we slept together doesn’t mean I should start treating him like he’s my boyfriend, Natasha reminded herself I really need to keep my distance from Jared.’

Jared stared at her, his eyes dark and intense. Something strange flickered in his gaze. He could see that Natasha was nervous, no matter how hard she tried to play it cool.

That was all the proof he needed; she was definitely lying. She was definitely texting someone just a minute ago. Chances were, it was a guy.

Probably that so-called husband of hers, Percy. Jared felt a restless unease stirring inside him for no reason. Jealousy hit him out of nowhere, sharp and bitter.

He figured after all the times he’d slept with Natasha, she was his woman now. But he kept forgetting; she still had that married status hanging over her. She still had an official husband, Percy.

As long as she wasn’t divorced, he was just the other man. He was sure she was texting another guy, probably Percy. But he had no standing to call her out on it, and that just made him feel even more like a loser.

“Do you need something?” Natasha finally asked, her voice a little uncertain. Jared just stood there, silent for what felt like forever, so Natasha couldn’t help but speak up.

Jared fixed his intense gaze on her, his eyes dark and unreadable. He opened his mouth, but hesitated, the words lingering unspoken. Then his gaze drifted to her damp hair. “Why aren’t you drying your hair?” he asked.

Natasha froze for a second. “Forgot!” She’d barely stepped out of the shower when she saw Percy’s messages, so she didn’ t even have time to dry her hair.

“Wait for me!” Jared said. After saying that, he went to get a hair dryer.
