Chapter 176 She Asks for Medicine

Chapter 176 She Asks for Medicine

Natasha turned her back on Sandra.

Sandra was beside herself and cried out, “Natasha! I’m your mother!” She never dreamed Natasha would ever have the guts to treat her this way.

Jared could see that Natasha wanted nothing to do with her. He looked to the security guards, signaling them to take Sandra away. Then he signaled for everyone else to leave.

Natasha went back to her office. She couldn’t help feeling down; she figured that after her run-in with Roxanne and Joelle, Sandra would definitely blame her. But she never imagined Sandra would barge into her company and cause a huge fuss. ‘Does she ever really think of me as her daughter?’ Natasha wondered. ‘Why does Mom keep defending Roxanne, even though Roxanne has always bullied us?’

The more Natasha thought about it, the angrier she got. The more she dwelled on it, the more her heart ached; she jus couldn’t focus on work at all.

Suddenly, an unsettling sensation started stirring inside her. Natasha forced herself to take a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. But she just couldn’t suppress it.

Her heart sank. ‘Crap, she thought. It felt like her anxiety was acting up again.

When she’d gone to see a doctor before, Jared had explained it to her. Her episodes weren’t just about hormones; it was mostly a psychological thing.

She used to think it only happened when she was around Percy. Now that she was divorced from him, she figured she’d be done with it for good. But she never thought her anxiety would hit her again today, of all days.

Guess Sandra showing up at her office and demanding an apology really got under her skin. Even if she didn’t want to admit it, being treated like she mattered less than some random outsider by her own mother just stung too much. Natasha desperately needed to blow off some steam. She’d originally planned to hit the bar with Dorothy for a drink. But now, with her episode kicking in, she couldn’t do anything.

She just wanted something, anything to make it stop. ‘I feel terrible, Natasha thought.

Her hand had gripped the edge of her desk so tightly that it left a deep scratch on the surface. Natasha couldn’t take it anymore and feared she would completely lose control if it continued.

Natasha glanced at the clock. It was already seven o’clock at night, and she hadn’t even realized it had gotten so late.

The sky had already gone dark. At this hour, the president’s floor was probably deserted; she didn’t have to worry about anyone catching her in this wrecked state.

Natasha quietly opened her office door and peeked out.

The entire executive floor was pitch black. The only light came from Jared’s office. ‘Is Jared still here?’ Natasha wondered.

She walked over and knocked on the door. “Come in!”

Just as she expected, Jared’s voice came from inside. Jared hadn’t left yet, and Natasha’s spirits lifted.

‘With Jared still here, it looks like I’ve got someone who can help me out, she thought. She pushed open the door with a smile.

“Feeling any better?” Jared asked as soon as he saw her. His dark eyes were filled with concern; he’d only stayed because Natasha was still in her office.

Ever since Sandra left, she’d shut herself in her office. She hadn’t left her office once, not even for a minute, from the afternoon all the way to night.

He couldn’t help but worry about her. That was the only reason he stuck around, just to make sure she was okay.

Natasha really didn’t want to answer that question right now. She felt absolutely awful, her whole body aching. She’d come to ask him for the meds to keep her episode in check.

She really didn’t want to bring up her mom, causing a scene at the office again. That would only make her episode even

worse.

“Well, can you give me the meds?” Natasha asked, getting straight to the point. She nodded, just asked for the meds without any hesitation.

“Meds?” Jared paused, a bit taken aback.

Successfully unlocked!

Then he squinted at her flushed face. Realization dawned on him. “Your anxiety is acting up again?”

Natasha replied softly, urging him, “Hurry.”

“Come here,” Jared said, his eyes locked on her, and he beckoned her over.

Natasha figured he just wanted to give her the meds, so she went over to Jared, just like he asked.

But before she could react, he reached out and pulled her right into his embrace. And then he kissed her.

Natasha let out a muffled gasp. Jared’s kiss was passionate and urgent. Natasha was totally caught off guard,

“You…” Natasha gasped. She pushed her hands against his chest, trying to push him away. But she couldn’t budge him at

all.

Jared’s kiss was filled with gentle care and concern. It felt like he was comforting her after everything she’d been through.

Slowly, Natasha let her guard down. She kissed him back, melting into his embrace.

Just as Jared released her lips, his hands started undoing her clothes. “What are you doing?” Natasha blurted out. Natasha tried to stop him.

Jared gave her a deep, meaningful look. “You really don’t know what I’m about to do?”

Natasha’s cheeks turned bright red, and she mumbled, “But… this is your office…”

‘Are we really about to do this here?’ Natasha thought, her cheeks burning as she realized where they were.

Jared’s voice was low and rough as he reminded her, “Don’t you want your episode to be taken care of?”

She felt miserable and desperately needed some relief. But all she’d wanted was to ask for the medicine; she never planned for things to get this heated right here in his office.

“I just… wanted the medicine…” Natasha blurted out, her voice shaky. She couldn’t help but protest.

But before she could finish, Jared claimed her lips again. After another fierce, demanding kiss, Natasha was left breathless, barely able to catch her breath after his intense kiss.

Jared rested his forehead against hers, panting heavily. “Let me handle this for you myself…” he murmured, his voice deep and husky.

“No…” Natasha just managed to protest, and then heard footsteps outside the door.
