Chapter 201 Marry Her
Chapter 201 Marry Her
It was late at night. A villa stood quietly somewhere on the outskirts of the city. When a Bentley slowly pulled up to the entrance, a bodyguard immediately stepped forward and respectfully opened the back door.
“Mr. Grosso,” the bodyguard greeted.
Percy stepped out of the car, a dark shadow lurking in his eyes. “She finally gave in?” he asked.
He had locked Joelle up here for several days, determined to force out the truth about the real owner of that handkerchief. But Joelle had refused to tell until tonight, when she suddenly got someone to tell him she finally remembered.
“Ms. Whittier said she can only disclose to you,” the bodyguard reported.
Percy narrowed his eyes, keen to know what kind of game Joelle was playing this time. He walked into the villa and went straight to the room where Joelle was being held. The moment Joelle saw him, she rushed over, visibly agitated.
“Percy, why are you locking me up here? Let me out!” she pleaded.
Percy looked at her, frightened and helpless, coldly. Once, he couldn’t bear to see her pitiful look like this. But now, faced with it, he was actually unmoved.
She was never the one he was looking for, after all. All the affection he once had for her had now turned into pure disgust. Now, Percy even felt a tangled resentment toward her, something he couldn’t really explain.
If it weren’t for her, he never would have mistaken her for the girl who had saved him. All those feelings he had poured out over the years were totally wasted.
So much for what he thought was repaying a debt; she wasn’t even the little girl in the yellow dress who had saved him back then.
“If you just tell me honestly how that handkerchief ended up with you, you’ll be free to go.” Percy glanced at her, speaking in a calm, indifferent tone.
Joelle’s expression changed. She felt a sudden, inexplicable disappointment welling up inside her.
‘So, you’re here tonight merely to find out who the real owner of that handkerchief is. It’s not because you suddenly grew a conscience and want to let me go. Most of all, it’s not because you miss me and you’ve come to see me,’ she thought bitterly.
She suppressed her frustration, curling her lip in disdain. “Is this really that important?”
“Yes,” Percy replied.
Joelle finally couldn’t hold it in anymore and shot back, “Or you actually think the real owner of that handkerchief is more important than me?”
Percy didn’t bother hiding it anymore. “Exactly. She’s more important than you,” he said.
Joelle’s heart clenched painfully; she couldn’t accept it. The man who used to put her on a pedestal was now standing right in front of her, telling her that another woman mattered more than she did.
‘How did it come to this?’ she thought. ‘Percy used to be my devoted simp, always at my beck and call. Why does he not love me anymore, just because of a handkerchief?’ she wondered.
‘Did everything we once had really just vanish because he cares more about the owner of that handkerchief? What makes that bitch, Natasha, better than me?’ she thought.
Joelle finally remembered. Percy’s locking her up here for the past few days had made her think harder than ever. ‘Who was the real owner of that handkerchief?’ And at last, the answer hit her.
Joelle suddenly gave him a sarcastic smirk. Percy shot her an icy stare and asked, “What are you laughing at?”
Joelle’s laughter grew even more sarcastic. “You’re ridiculous; why am I not allowed to laugh?”
Percy stepped forward and grabbed her chin. “Don’t laugh. You’d better answer me honestly; how did you get that handkerchief?”
“I snatched it!” Joelle looked straight at him and blurted out. “I snatched it right out of her hands! She was bawling her eyes out, but she was no match for me. She could only let me bully her however I wanted.”
She felt it was ridiculous because Percy still had no idea the girl he was searching for was actually Natasha. He had even turned his back on Natasha and their relationship for her sake. And now he was still pressing her to reveal Natasha’s name.
Of course, she would never be stupid enough to tell the truth. She just wanted to see Percy looking so pathetic, totally in the dark.

Chapter 201 Marry Her
Smack! Percy’s eyes flashed red with fury. Without warning, he raised his hand and delivered a vicious slap across her face
Joelle was knocked to the ground by Percy’s slap, pain shooting through her as she hit the floor. She immediately tasted blood, thick and metallic, pooling in her mouth. That slap was brutal; Percy didn’t hold back at all.
“You… actually slap me?” Joelle stammered. She pressed her burning right cheek, staring at Percy as if he were a monster she had never seen before in disbelief.
She felt like facing a stranger. Not even in her dream did she ever think Percy would hit her. All those sweet promises he used to whisper became jokes now.
Percy showed no sign of remorse, his expression was cold and unforgiving. He just gave her a chilling warning. “You should know, right now, I could end you without a second thought.”
Joelle shivered instinctively. She knew Percy wasn’t exaggerating; he meant every word he said. At this point, he was fully capable of doing it.
Joelle gritted her teeth; she had no choice but to speak up. “I know where she is.”
Percy was momentarily stunned. A flicker of excitement flashed in his eyes. “Where is she?” he pressed, his voice urgent.
“I can tell you!” Joelle said, locking eyes with him, and gathering her courage. “But there’s one condition.”
Percy narrowed his eyes. “What is it?”
Joelle demanded, “Break up with Natasha and marry me.”
This was her only shot now. After Nicolas dumped her, she had been so heartbroken she had even thought about ending it all, convinced she had never get a chance at marrying into a wealthy family.
But her dream since she was a kid had always been to marry into a wealthy family and be a rich man’s wife. She had thought that without Nicolas, at least she still had Percy. But now, just because of a stupid handkerchief, Percy had turned his back on her without a second thought.
