Chapter 210 Who’s a Better Kisser

Chapter 210 Who’s a Better Kisser

Natasha thought, ‘Why’d Percy come to Jared’s office? Is he here to catch us cheating? But he doesn’t even know about my relationship with Jared.’

Natasha looked up at Jared in panic, silently mouthing, “What do we do?”

To her surprise, Jared said into the intercom, “Let him in.”

The call ended.

Natasha could faintly hear the secretary outside. “Mr. Grosso, you may enter.”

In that instant, the tension in her mind snapped tight, almost to the breaking point.

Natasha gave Jared a sharp kick, clearly annoyed.

Then she moved quickly to the desk and stood beside it, pretending she was in the middle of a work report.

Jared felt the emptiness in his arms, and his eyes dimmed for a moment.

He looked up at Natasha, seeing how she was suddenly acting all businesslike.

He could not help but chuckle. “Are you that scared Percy will catch us together?”

Natasha glared at him, annoyed and flustered, as if he had just called her out.

But before she could fire back, the office door swung open.

The next second, Percy stepped inside.

Natasha’s heart leapt into her throat.

This had to be the most awkward encounter ever, and she was smack dab in the middle of it.

She wished she could vanish into thin air.

“Mr. Rundell!” Percy called out as he stepped inside.

Percy was just about to exchange pleasantries with Jared when he suddenly spotted Natasha.

“Nat? What are you doing here?” Percy asked.

Surprise flashed across his face.

Natasha quickly steadied herself. “I’m just going over a work report with my boss.”

Percy blinked as realization dawned on him.

He thought, ‘So this is where Natasha works. And Jared is her boss.’

“Mr. Rundell, really appreciate you always looking out for my wife,” Percy said with a polite smile.

He came across as very polite and gentlemanly.

Jared’s eyes turned cold for a brief moment.

His face, however, remained calm and unreadable.

He did not respond to Percy.

Instead, his gaze stayed fixed on Natasha.

Natasha felt the pressure immediately.

She braced herself and said, “Mr. Rundell, you two go ahead and talk. I’ll head out now.”

Without waiting for a reply, she hurried toward the door, clearly trying to avoid being caught between them.

Back in her own office, Natasha finally had a moment to herself.

She took several deep breaths, desperately trying to steady her nerves.

‘Damn, that really scared the hell out of me, Natasha thought.

While Natasha was still stressing out, someone knocked on her office door.

It was her new assistant, Camilla.

Camilla poked her head in and asked, “Natasha, I heard Mr. Rundell has a VIP guest. Should I bring them coffee?”

Natasha honestly could not care less about this right now.

This was supposed to be the secretary’s job in the first place.

However, Camilla was new and seemed super eager to jump in and help with everything.

Natasha did not want to kill Camilla’s enthusiasm, so she replied offhandedly, “Up to you.”

Camilla quickly brewed two cups of coffee and carefully carried them into the office.

Natasha was restless in her office, pacing back and forth, unable to calm down.

She was about to make a break for the bathroom, but as soon as she stepped out, she saw Camilla, who had just left Jared s office, and a few other secretaries chatting in hushed voices.

“Who do you think is more attractive?” one of them whispered. “Mr. Rundell, our boss with that steady, dependable vibe, or Mr. Grosso, who’s young and full of promise?”

Natasha had zero interest in joining their gossip, so she just turned and headed for the bathroom.

But as she walked away, she overheard Camilla whispering to the others, “Mr. Grosso is even younger and hotter than I thought, and in that aspect… He must be really strong…”

When Natasha heard that, her steps faltered for a second.

The other secretaries all grinned at each other, their smiles full of mischief. “Seriously, how do you know?” One of them giggled.

Camilla answered with total confidence, “Girl, I just have a sixth sense for these things.”

Natasha’s lips curled into a mocking, cold smile.

‘Looks like Camilla’s intuition is way off, Natasha thought. ‘If she knew Percy hadn’t so much as laid a finger on me, she’d be stunned.’

As Natasha stepped out of the bathroom, someone came up to her and said, “Mr. Rundell and Mr. Grosso are in the lounge. They’ve asked you to join them for their meeting.”

Natasha froze for a second.

‘Seriously, why do they need me there? Can’t Jared and Percy just talk without dragging me in?’ she grumbled inwardly, not wanting any part of it.

But as soon as Natasha got back to her office, Jared sent someone over to hurry her along again.

In the end, Natasha had no choice but to head reluctantly to the reception room.

But when she pushed the door open, the lounge was completely empty.

All Natasha saw was an L-shaped leather sofa and a wall-mounted cabinet.

Neither Jared nor Percy was anywhere to be seen.

Natasha’s eyes flickered with confusion.

‘They called me over, so where the hell are they?’ she thought, feeling even more bewildered.

Just as she was wondering what was going on, she felt a sudden grip tighten around her waist.

Natasha was pulled into a familiar embrace.

Before she could even react, Jared pressed her up against the wall,

He tilted her chin up, leaned in, and claimed her lips in a fierce, hungry kiss.

“Mmph… Natasha let out a muffled sound.

Her eyes flew wide open.

She nearly forgot how to breathe.

Seeing Jared’s face right in front of her, Natasha heard the loud thumping of a heartbeat.

She could no longer tell whether the sound belonged to her or to Jared.

She braced her hands against his chest, trying to push him away.

“Jared!” Natasha gasped, calling out his name.

Jared loosened his hold on her, then leaned in so their noses were almost touching.

With his voice rough and low, he murmured, “Tell me, who kisses better, Percy or me?”
