Percy’s fingers closed around Joelle’s throat as his temper edged out of control.

“If you dare lie to me, I’ll make you pay!” Percy said through clenched teeth.

Joelle looked into Percy’s eyes, but they held no warmth at all, only a chilling indifference.

Her heart clenched painfully.

“Camilla asked if she could deliver the report. She said she wanted a chance to prove herself,” Natasha replied indifferently

‘Why is Jared giving off such a weirdly jealous vibe?’ Natasha thought to herself.

‘I had let another woman deliver the report, giving her a chance to get close to him. I’m not even bothered by that, so what’s he so mad about?’

“I have to give the newcomer a chance, don’t I?” Natasha said, matter-of-factly.

Camilla was the new female assistant who had just joined the team.

Derek had put Natasha in charge of training Camilla.

‘I really don’t get what Jared’s so mad about, Natasha thought to herself.

“Don’t you want to create more opportunities for yourself?” Jared asked.

Jared was practically seething, barely able to contain his irritation.

Natasha narrowed her eyes at him. “What, are you trying to take advantage of me?”

Jared kept her pressed against him, his hand locked firmly around her waist.

He leaned down and gave her lips a teasing bite. “Yes, I am.”

His eyes darkened with desire, his breath shaky and uneven.

Jared bent down, his lips hovering just above hers, ready to claim her in a kiss.

Natasha raised her hand, stopping him just as his lips were about to touch hers.

“We’re in the office!” she reminded.

Jared’s eyes were smoldering as he met her gaze. “So what? It’s not like this is the first time I’ve kissed you in the office.”

Jared had lost count of how many times he had imagined taking Natasha right here in his office.

“You’re the CEO. Can’t you at least lead by example and keep things professional?” Natasha retorted, her voice laced with irritation.

“I can keep things professional with everyone else, but not with you,” Jared said, his tone unapologetic.

Natasha’s lips twitched. She was speechless.

Just then, the office intercom rang.

Jared’s brow furrowed as he picked up the phone.

The secretary’s voice came through the line. “The newly appointed CEO from Grosso Group has arrived, Mr. Rundell.”
