“Percy, have you and Natasha broken up?” Lily’s voice came through the phone as soon as Percy answered.

Percy frowned. “Mom, how did you know?”

That was basically as good as admitting it.

Lily immediately ordered, “Don’t worry about how I know. Just come home right now.”

Percy hadn’t expected his mom to know about his breakup with Natasha.

He had to hurry home and ask her straight out.

The party wasn’t even over yet, but he left early.

Natasha had just taken a glass of champagne from a waiter’s tray, hoping to catch her breath, when Jared suddenly appeared in front of her, staring straight at her and asking, “What were you talking about with Percy just now?”

He’d already seen Natasha talking to Percy just now.

He’d even noticed Percy holding onto her, refusing to let go.

Natasha took a sip of her champagne and replied calmly, “Nothing.”

She had no intention of telling Jared what she and Percy had just talked about.

She nearly collapsed into his arms.

“No one!” Natasha shook her head, her mind already sure Percy wasn’t there.

She was almost certain Percy had left.

Perhaps he must’ve slipped out before Jared kissed her.

With that realization, Natasha finally let out a breath of relief.

If Percy had actually seen Jared kissing her like that, he’d never forgive her. He’d make her pay for it.

But before Natasha could even finish, Jared suddenly scooped her up around the waist in a bridal carry.

Without waiting for her reaction, he strode right out of the party with her in his arms.

Natasha was so embarrassed that she wished she could disappear.

Once Natasha was sure they were alone in the elevator, she immediately started to struggle.

She tried to break free from his arms.

“Put me down!” Natasha protested.

“Be good and don’t move,” Jared murmured, his voice low and commanding.
