Chapter 240 Alone With an Ex
Chapter 240 Alone With an Ex
Percy was about to refuse, but Dorothy had already slipped into his luxury car like she owned the place.
Not wanting to upset Natasha, Percy could only swallow his annoyance.
He’wrapped his arm around Natasha and got into the back seat with her.
Dorothy wasted no time and slid right between Natasha and Percy, taking the middle seat.
She was doing it on purpose, blocking Percy from getting anywhere near Natasha.
Percy’s good looks were barely visible in the car’s dim lighting.
His jaw was set, tense.
He was giving off major annoyed vibes.
But Dorothy ignored Percy completely and just linked arms with Natasha. “Nat, why don’t you crash at my place tonight?”
She definitely wasn’t comfortable leaving Natasha alone with Percy after she went home herself.
With all her years of dating experience, Dorothy could tell Percy absolutely had his eyes on Natasha.
“Uh, me?” Natasha blinked, surprised by Dorothy’s sudden invitation.
She really hadn’t expected her bestie to throw that out there.
They definitely hadn’t talked about her crashing at Dorothy’s place that night.
Natasha was about to reply when Percy leaned over Dorothy and asked her directly. “Want a drink?”
His Bentley had a built-in bar, stocked with a stash of rare, top-shelf liquor.
As the Grosso family heir and future patriarch, Percy always had the best of everything.
Of course, his ride was loaded with only the finest.
Normally, he kept those drinks just for himself.
But because Natasha was with him that night, he was willing to share.
Maybe it was guilt from their past, but Percy felt the urge to make it up to her.
At least, that was what he told himself.
“No need, Nat and I already had a few drinks with Mr. Jackson in the private room earlier, right, Nat?” Dorothy jumped in before Natasha could answer.
She made sure to mention Zayn to annoy Percy.
Sure enough, Percy’s face fell instantly.
The tension in the car was so thick, it was suffocating.
Percy gripped the bottle in his hand, knuckles white.
He tried to keep his cool, but you could see he was annoyed as he poured a glass and handed it to Natasha. “This is something I ordered straight from a top winery overseas. Trust me, nothing you get around here even comes close. Give it a shot.”
Natasha could practically feel the tension hanging in the air.
She knew Dorothy was sticking up for her, purposely poking at Percy and really getting on his nerves.
Not wanting Percy to take it out on Dorothy later, Natasha took the glass and gave it a careful sip.
“Wow, this actually tastes amazing,” she said.
When Percy heard her compliment, he genuinely lit up, looking honestly happy.
“If you like it, I’ll have a few bottles sent over to you,” he said, sounding super generous.
But Natasha didn’t even hesitate. “No need, really. This wine is way too expensive for me. I’m just not used to stuff like this.”
She knew exactly where she came from and just how far apart she and Percy were now.
If she ever had even the tiniest hope of ending up with Percy it was back when he was just the Grosso family’s illegitimate Successfully unlocked!
son.
But after becoming the only heir to the Grosso tay, was a luye uivide between them. One she could never cross. It was simply impossible.

Percy wasn’t blind to what she was really saying.
His deep, unreadable eyes locked onto hers. “How could you not get used to it? You didn’t drink much before. If I say you can handle it, then you can.”
What he really meant was, as long as he gave the word, she could have whatever she wanted, and no one would dare question it.
Natasha shook her head with a little smile, still turning him down. “Thanks, but some habits aren’t something you can just flip a switch on. It’s not that easy to change overnight.”
She was just the Whittier family’s illegitimate kid, the outsider.
Even if Joelle hadn’t gotten in the way, they probably would’ve ended up apart anyway.
With Percy being the Grosso family heir, there was no way they could ever be together. They were bound to split up.
Percy frowned, about to say something else.
But Dorothy butted in with zero shame, grinning at him. “Percy, if you’ve got more wine than you know what to do with, why not let me help you out? I’m a sucker for good red wine.”
Percy’s face darkened.
But for Natasha’s sake, he held back and said, “I’ll have my assistant send you a few bottles another day.”
Dorothy grinned. “Thanks in advance, Percy.”
Percy pressed his lips into a thin line.
He wanted to say something to Natasha, but Dorothy cut him off before he could even get a word out, deliberately blocking his line of sight.
She didn’t give him a chance to speak.
And just like that, Dorothy spent the whole ride making sure Percy didn’t get anywhere near Natasha.
The driver finally pulled the luxury car up to the entrance of Dorothy’s apartment complex.
“We’re here, Nat. Come on, get out with me!” Dorothy said, giving Natasha a meaningful look.
Natasha nodded. “Okay.”
But just as Natasha was about to push the door, Percy stopped her.
“Nat, wait. I need a word with you,” he said.
Dorothy was quick to react, “Should I just wait here in the car?”
Percy didn’t even give Natasha a chance to reply. He cut her off, voice firm, “Alone. Just you and me.”
The driver got the hint and hopped out of the car in a flash.
Dorothy was seriously pissed and snapped right at him.
“Percy, you and Nat already broke up, so what could you possibly need to say to her alone?”
She knew that bastard was obviously looking for an excuse to isolate Natasha.
‘If he’s so regretful now, why didn’t he do something about it back then? Where the hell was he before, anyway?’ She cursed.
Percy narrowed his eyes. “This is between the two of us. Stay out of it,”
Dorothy couldn’t help but scoff, her lips curling in a mocking smirk.
