Chapter 25 Let Her Go

Chapter 25 Let Her Go

Fortunately, Percy and Sandra weren’t paying attention to Natasha at that moment.

During those few seconds when Natasha and Jared locked eyes across the room, neither of them noticed.

Even so, Natasha didn’t dare keep exchanging looks with him in a hall full of guests.

She quickly pulled her gaze away and looked elsewhere.

A shadow flickered in the depths of Jared’s eyes.

At first, Jared had felt pleasantly surprised to run into her at such a dull wedding reception.

Tonight Natasha wore an ivory gown. Her hair was pinned up high.

Her makeup was light and delicate. She looked both graceful and pure at the same time.

It was obvious Natasha had tried to keep a low profile.

But her beauty was too striking, and her temperament too unique.

Natasha still attracted plenty of attention from the men at the wedding. Jared was no exception.

The problem was that another man stood beside Natasha.

This was the first time Jared had seen Natasha with Percy.

Even without a formal introduction, Jared could already tell that Percy must be her husband.

A sour feeling bubbled up inside Jared. Especially when Natasha avoided his gaze after noticing him. That made the feeling even worse.

A trace of dark disappointment appeared in Jared’s expression.

Right then, a loud crash echoed through the hall. Joelle had smashed a wine glass.

The wedding reception had already begun, yet Nicolas still hadn’t arrived. It was a clear insult to her.

Joelle had been spoiled by her parents since childhood. She couldn’t tolerate such humiliation.

She almost rushed over to confront Nicolas’s parents.

Fortunately, her bridesmaids and close friends grabbed her and pulled her back.

Bernard immediately signaled Roxanne to go comfort their daughter. He himself walked over to negotiate with the Milford family.

Seeing this, Sandra and Percy looked extremely worried about Joelle.

Percy quickly made an excuse and walked away. He was obviously going to check on Joelle.

Sandra also looked anxious. “Why hasn’t Mr. Milford shown up yet? No wonder Joelle’s upset. This makes her and our family look terrible.”

“Mom, don’t worry. Mr. Milford will come,” Natasha said gently to comfort her.

“But what if he doesn’t? How could Joelle handle that?” Sandra said, clearly having Joelle on her mind. “No, this won’t do. I need to go talk to her.”

With that, Sandra left Natasha behind and hurried toward the lounge to check on Joelle.

Watching her mother walk away, Natasha let out a quiet laugh. She thought bitterly, ‘Mom seems to have forgotten something.

‘A year ago when I married Percy, there hadn’t even been a wedding reception. I had taken the wedding photos alone.

‘No one in the Whittier family had spoken up for me. Not even my own mother, Sandra.

‘Yet now Joelle is getting married. The groom is only a little late, and the entire Whittier family looks worried sick.

‘Even Dad has stepped in personally to handle it. And Percy looks more anxious than anyone.

‘It’s obvious who the favored daughter is. I can ignore everyone else. But why does Mom also treat Roxanne’s daughter with so much love?

‘Back when I got married, Roxanne convinced Dad to keep everything simple. She even teamed up with the Grosso family to embarrass me and make my wedding look cheap.

‘Roxanne has never treated me kindly. Every time we meet, she glares at me coldly. She even insults Mom whenever she feels like it.

Thinking this, Natasha couldn’t help but feel bitter about it.

Just then, a waiter carrying champagne walked past.

Natasha took a glass from his tray. She went out to the balcony alone and started drinking

So this is where you are.”

While she was drinking, a familiar voice suddenly sounded beside her.

Natasha lifted her slightly drunken gaze. To her surprise, it was her brother, Collin

Need something? Natasha asked lazily.

Today was Joelle’s wedding, and the whole family was focused on it.

Collin was the only son of the Whittier family.

the had always done whatever he pleased. Even Joelle’s big day didn’t mean much to him.

Of course I do. It’s something good. Come on. I want you to meet someone,” Collin said as he grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the reception hall.

Natasha had already drunk quite a bit. Her steps were unsteady.

But she wasn’t completely drunk. Her mind was still clear.

“Where are you taking me? It’s Joelle’s wedding. I can’t go too far,” Natasha said.

Natasha was different from Collin.

Colim was the only male heir of the Whittier family. Bernard and Roxanne spoiled him almost as much as Joelle.

Therefore, he could skip Joelle’s wedding entirely and no one would dare criticize him.

But Natasha was the neglected younger daughter. She didn’t have the luxury to act willfully.

Natasha struggled to head back toward the hall. But Collin gripped her wrist tightly and refused to let go.

“A friend of mine wants to see you,” Collin said.

He dragged her along until they reached a quiet garden with no one around.

Inside, someone she couldn’t possibly mistake was waiting for her.

Long time no see, Natasha, Gordon said with a crooked smile.

The look on his face was full of ill intentions.

Gordion wasn’t a decent man. In fact, he was known as one of the worst playboys around.

Over the years, Gordon had relied on his family’s wealth and power to bully countless people.

He had had his eye on Natasha for a long time. But several attempts had failed before, and the trouble had gotten him sent overseas by his father.

“When did you come back?” Natasha’s face changed the moment she saw him. Her drunken haze vanished instantly.

“I just got back and came straight to Joelle’s wedding. That’s showing your family some respect, isn’t it?” Gordon said as he stepped closer.

His eyes roamed over her body with clear hunger
