An Affair With The Ceo (Natasha and Jared) novel Chapter 256

Chapter 256 Hand in Her Resignation

Chapter 256 Hand in Her Resignation

Natasha gasped.

Jared ripped her clothes off.

Her smooth skin was laid bare to the cool air.

He leaned in and started kissing and biting her again.

“Stop…” Natasha whimpered in protest.

She winced in pain, her brows furrowing as she struggled desperately.

Jared’s tall frame held her down tightly, making it impossible for her to break free.

He kissed her with reckless abandon, ignoring her resistance.

Natasha couldn’t stand the way Jared was treating her anymore.

Her mouth was sealed so tightly by his kiss that she was nearly suffocating.

Her eyes involuntarily welled up with tears.

Jared’s eyes unexpectedly caught hers.

He was stunned, pausing for a few seconds.

His grip unconsciously slackened.

Natasha slapped him hard across the face.

She quickly fixed her disheveled clothes.

Then she opened the office door and stormed out.

Natasha didn’t sleep a wink that night.

The next morning, she stared at herself in the mirror.

Her dark circles were so heavy, it was almost embarrassing.

Looking like this, she couldn’t possibly go out and face anyone.

Natasha sat at her vanity, carefully applying makeup and focusing on hiding those stubborn dark circles under her eyes. She drew in a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down and pull herself together.

Only after that did she finally leave for work.

Honestly, she didn’t want to see Jared at all right now.

But with Harley in trouble, Jared was probably still managing the Rundell Group and wouldn’t be coming back to this office anytime soon.

After spending the whole night thinking it over, Natasha had made up her mind.

She was going to hand in her resignation.

Only by doing this could she finally draw a clear line between herself and Jared.

Otherwise, they’d keep lingering in each other’s lives, never truly breaking free.

Natasha wasn’t going to give him another chance.

She didn’t want to hold onto even a bit of hope for herself.

When she arrived at work, Natasha headed straight to her office.

First, she printed her resignation letter.

Then she began packing up her things.

Once she’d packed up most of her things, Natasha grabbed her resignation letter and made her way to the CEO’s office.

She mustered up all her courage and knocked on the door.

There was no answer from inside.

‘Maybe Jared still isn’t back yet?’ she thought.

Successfully unlocked!

“Natasha, do you need something from Mr. Rundell?” Derek’s voice suddenly sounded from behind her.

She turned around to see Derek standing there.

“Yeah, I do,” Natasha replied.

Derek looked puzzled. “Why don’t you reach out to him directly?”

He was the only person here who knew about Natasha and Jared.

He totally gets how Jared felt about her.

If Natasha reached out first, Jared would be absolutely thrilled.

Natasha gave a wry smile.

She could barely avoid Jared as it was. The last thing she’d want was to reach out to him herself.

“Could you please give this to him for me?” Natasha said, handing Derek the resignation letter she’d already prepared.

Derek took it and glanced down at the letter.

“You’re quitting?” he asked.

“Yeah,” Natasha replied, nodding.

Derek instinctively frowned.

‘If Mr. Rundell finds out she’s quitting, he’ll be devastated,’ Derek thought.

“Mind telling me why?” Derek asked.

Natasha came up with an excuse. “I’m going back to Whittier Group to help out my dad…”

She had absolutely no intention of returning to Whittier Group.

But right now, that was the only thing she could say.

Derek’s expression grew serious. “Have you told Mr. Rundell about this yet?”

Natasha shook her head. “No.”

Derek’s heart sank.

Derek thought in disbelief, ‘He really doesn’t know?

‘If Mr. Rundell finds out Natasha’s quitting, he’ll be devastated.’

The resignation letter in his hand suddenly felt impossibly heavy.

“Honestly, you should give this to him yourself,” Derek said, his voice tense.

‘No way I’d dare handle this for her, Derek thought.

Natasha couldn’t help but ask, “When is he coming back?”

Derek’s gaze shifted. “Honestly, I have no idea…”

Even if he knew, there was no way he’d dare tell her right now.

He needed to figure out a way to talk Natasha out of this first.

“Honestly, because you want to help out at Whittier Group doesn’t mean you have to quit here,” Derek said, trying to gently persuade her.

Natasha got what he was hinting at.

“If I don’t resign, there’s no way I can juggle both,” she said.

“But if you quit…” Derek hesitated, not sure how to finish his sentence.

He was sure that if Natasha handed in her resignation, Jared would be really upset.

“There’s going to be a hefty termination fee,” Derek said, his voice heavy with concern.

Natasha had already thought about that last night.

“How much?” she asked.

Derek replied, “At least over 300 thousand dollars.”

Natasha felt a jolt run through her chest.

But if she really wanted to draw a clear line with Jared, she had no choice but to pay up, even if it cost her that much.

“I understand,” Natasha said.

After she divorced Percy, she got their apartment.

If she could sell it fast, paying the termination fee wouldn’t be an issue.

Derek noticed that Natasha wasn’t the least bit concerned about the termination fee, which left him feeling even more troubled.

He realized he needed to report this to Jared right away.

“Wait, Natasha, let’s talk this through,” Derek said, stepping forward and grabbing her arm as she was about to head back to her office.

Derek quickly moved to stop her, reaching out and catching her by the arm before she could leave.

then, the CEO’s private elevator doors opened.

Jared walked out, his face icy and unreadable.

His tall frame strode out of the elevator.

As soon as Jared looked up, he caught sight of Derek holding onto Natasha’s arm.

His brows furrowed even deeper.

His handsome face turned even more icy.

Derek felt a cold, intense stare aimed right at him.

He instinctively shot a look in that direction.

He flinched, his heart skipping a beat.

He hurriedly tried to explain, “Mr. Rundell, I was about to…”

“Not my concern,” Jared cut him off, his voice cold and emotionless.

Jared’s face was expressionless, and he didn’t say another word.

He didn’t even spare them a glance.

Without saying a word, Jared walked right past them, not even sparing them a glance, and went straight into his office.

The door slammed shut behind him with a resounding bang.

Natasha could feel the sense of finality in Jared as he walked past her.
