Chapter 275 No One But Him
Chapter 275 No One But Him
Jared clenched his fists.
His tall, imposing figure pressed in on her, his presence downright domineering.
“So, what are you going to do next?” he asked.
His eyes, dark as the abyss, were fixated on her, intense and unyielding.
Natasha was taken aback. “What?”
Jared stared right at her, pushing her for more.
“Since things are over between you two, what’s your plan now?” he asked.
Natasha had no answer for that.
‘Was I really supposed to tell him I’d already decided to leave after the holidays?’ she thought.
Given his mood right now, that would only piss him off even more.
So Natasha said, “I’m not sure yet.”
Jared reached out and grasped her hand, holding it tight.
“Am I not even an option for you?” he asked, his voice deep and rough.
Natasha managed a bitter smile.
Then she shook her head.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to; she couldn’t let herself.
He was Jared, not a man she could simply claim for herself.
She felt that it was better to rip off the band-aid now than let the pain linger.
Jared’s eyes locked onto her, intense and piercing.
His handsome features darkened.
Finally, he let go of her and stood up.
Natasha collapsed onto the bed, her body limp and drained.
Tears slid uncontrollably from the corners of her eyes.
At Milford Group, Natasha had arrived at work and greeted her colleagues.
But to her surprise, no one even acknowledged her.
Later, when she went to the restroom, she overheard her coworkers gossiping and finally figured out what was going on.
She’d snatched the position from someone named Felicia Moss.
Felicia was originally Nicolas’s assistant.
She was the top candidate for the executive assistant promotion.
But nobody expected Natasha to be parachuted in as Nicolas’s executive assistant, replacing Felicia out of the blue.
Even the office Natasha was using now used to belong to Felicia.
Felicia was obviously feeling pretty uncomfortable about it.
But since it was Nicolas’s call, she couldn’t say anything out loud.
Outwardly, she kept quiet.
But deep down, she was seriously annoyed.
She’d been Nicolas’s right-hand for years, loyal and experienced.
On top of that, she had a PhD from abroad, her academic credentials were rock solid.
She always carried herself as a powerful, sophisticated career woman, the kind everyone respected.
People at Milford Group held her in high regard.
Now that Natasha had taken the spot that should’ve been Felicia’s, everyone was out to get her.
Nicolas wasn’t even in today.

Chapter 275 No One But Him
Natasha had originally wanted to consult Felicia about a few things regarding Milford Group.
But Felicia talked down to her, giving her a condescending lecture.
On top of that, she ordered Natasha to go buy coffee for everyone.
“One cup for each person in the CEO’s office and the secretarial team,” Felicia said.
Natasha was taken aback. “Am I supposed to get all the coffee myself?”
Felicia scoffed, “If you’re not getting them, who else is?”
Natasha was speechless.
Grunt work like this was usually for interns.
She was the executive assistant now. Her position outranked theirs.
And yet they expected her to fetch coffee for everyone.
They were clearly hazing her because she was the new face.
“Sorry, but that’s not in my job description,” Natasha said politely.
If it wasn’t her responsibility, she wasn’t going to do it.
Felicia seized the opportunity to mock her. “Yeah, you’re not anybody, are you? You show up as the CEO’s executive assistant, with your VIP status.
“Of course, someone as important as you wouldn’t lower yourself to fetch coffee for us, mere underlings.”
She deliberately raised her voice so everyone could hear.
Everyone nearby turned to look.
Her words sparked a wave of whispers and gossip.
“Wow, she’s acting like such a diva.”
“Everyone knows it’s the newbie’s job to get coffee. How does she not know her place?”
“She parachuted in as the CEO’s executive assistant, why would she care about the rules?”
“She clearly doesn’t give a damn about any of us. She’s going to be impossible to get along with.”
It felt like if Natasha didn’t go out and buy those twenty-plus cups of coffee today, she’d be going up against the entire office.
Natasha frowned.
She steeled herself.
“Fine, coffee’s on me. I’ll treat everyone,” Natasha said.
Since buying coffee was the usual thing for newbies around here, Natasha didn’t want to stand out or act like she was above everyone else.
She didn’t want people thinking she wasn’t a team player.
Besides, she was already planning to buy everyone coffee anyway.
But Felicia wasn’t finished. “Since you’re footing the bill, why not go buy the coffee yourself?
“That way, you can really show everyone how gracious and approachable the new executive assistant is.”
Felicia had put Natasha on such a pedestal.
Everyone turned to look at her.
Natasha had no choice but to wear that label.
She smiled. “Sure, no problem.”
Natasha thought, ‘Buying it myself? No big deal.
‘Felicia handed me the perfect chance to get everyone on my side, why not go for it?’
Camilla’s face fell.
She honestly thought Natasha would never actually go run the errand herself.
After all, Natasha was the new exec assistant who landed out of nowhere.
She had someone powerful backing her up.
She could’ve dropped Nicolas’s name and refused.

Chapter 275 No One But Him
Felicia was caught off guard when Natasha actually said yes.
Natasha agreed to do the coffee run for everyone.
Suddenly, a bunch of people started warming up to her, they figured she wasn’t so bad after all.
Felicia crossed her arms, impatience written all over her face. “Alright, Executive Assistant, could you hurry up?
“Mt. Milford will be back in twenty minutes. If he sees you running errands for us, we don’t want to be held responsible.”
Bossing Natasha around was bad enough, but now Felicia was slapping a deadline on it.
She wanted Natasha to get back in twenty minutes flat.
‘Is she trying to wear me out or what?’ Natasha thought..
“Felicia, are you hitting menopause or what? Why are you so obsessed with bossing people around?” Natasha fired back
She called Felicia out to her face.
The others couldn’t help but snicker, covering their mouths to hide their laughter.
“But no matter how much you try to mess with me, bring it on,” Natasha shot back.
Felicia glared at Natasha’s back as she walked away, stomping her foot angrily.
Felicia thought, ‘Just wait.
‘Sooner or later, I’m going to kick Natasha out and reclaim the executive assistant position that should’ve been mine.’
*****
Natasha rushed downstairs at top speed.
She bought all the coffees from the coffee shop downstairs.
She carried several bags in each hand.
As she rushed toward the elevator, the doors were about to close.
She hurriedly called out, “Hold the door.”
The doors opened back up.
