Chapter 290 Twice-Divorced Women
Chapter 290 Twice-Divorced Women
Percy felt as if Joan had seen right through him.
Percy was extra pissed off.
But he didn’t let it show.
Instead, he wrapped his arm around her waist, putting on a patient front as he coaxed, “Don’t overthink it. I really do have to
handle something at the company.”
Joan still looked skeptical. “Is that really it?”
“Of course!” Percy replied.
Percy kept coaxing her, but the smile on his face seemed fake.
He quickly called the driver and had Joan sent away.
With that, he turned around.
He strode off in the direction where Natasha and Jared had disappeared.
Natasha and Jared sat down together in a private suite.
The room featured an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling windows.
Right outside was a lake.
At night, the lake sparkled under the moonlight, the view was simply breathtaking.
But Natasha wasn’t in the mood to appreciate the view.
She really hadn’t expected to bump into Percy here.
Now, her relationship with Jared was clear as day.
No matter how she tried to explain, it wouldn’t make a difference.
‘Forget it, Natasha told herself.
She and Percy were already divorced.
Now that they were both single again, they were free to date or marry whoever they wanted.
She didn’t owe Percy any explanations.
She thought, ‘Who cares if he misunderstands?
‘Let him think whatever he wants. It doesn’t bother me.’
“Still thinking about your ex-husband?” Jared asked, seeing right through her.
Natasha furrowed her brows.
She didn’t say a word.
Jared gave her a meaningful look. “He’s your ex now. You seriously still care what he thinks?”
“Who cares about him?” Natasha snapped back.
Jared’s gaze was so sharp, it was like he was scanning her with X-ray vision.
“If you really don’t care, then why are you so bothered right now?” he pressed.
Natasha frowned. “I’m not bothered.”
She was probably the only one who really understood Percy.
He always had double standards, he could do whatever he wanted, but nobody else was allowed to.
Even though they were divorced now,
he still walked in on her with someone new.
With Percy’s personality, he’d never let her go that easily.
Especially since her new flame was Jared.
That really messed with Percy.
He might even go after her for revenge.

Jared looked both annoyed and resigned. “I admit it, trying to forget him all at once isn’t that simple.
“But I’ll stay by your side until you’ve let him go and fall for me instead.”
Natasha rolled her eyes so hard it was almost a workout.
‘Seriously, Percy’s been out of my heart for ages,’ she thought.
“I don’t have any feelings for him anymore. I didn’t expect him to run into us today. It was kind of awkward, that’s all,” Natasha shrugged.
Percy’s thoughts were the last thing on Natasha’s mind.
But Jared definitely cared.
At some point, Percy had become like a thorn in their relationship, always there, impossible to ignore.
It wasn’t that Jared cared about Natasha’s history with Percy.
What really got to him was that Percy still had a place in Natasha’s heart.
“No matter what you had with him, from now on, your heart belongs to me,” Jared said.
He looked straight at her, making it clear he wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Natasha was totally floored by what he said.
She thought, ‘Only him? In my heart?
‘Is he serious right now?’
“We’re not even a couple, let alone married. Who are you to tell me my heart should belong to you?” Natasha retorted.
She let out a cold snort, her tone full of sarcasm.
If she remembered right, their friends-with-benefits thing was already over.
She’d shot him down more than once when he tried to take things further.
She thought, ‘So what gives him the right to demand my heart now?’
“Because we’re not together now doesn’t mean we won’t be someday. Sooner or later, both you and your heart are going to be mine,” Jared declared.
Jared’s gaze never wavered, his tone leaving no room for doubt.
Natasha was about to say something else when the waiter came in with the food Jared had ordered earlier.
They dug in.
They let the subject drop.
Jared didn’t eat much and was full in no time.
He saw the large shrimp sitting in front of Natasha, she had barely touched them.
Jared took the initiative and reached over to peel the shrimp for her.
His movements were refined and graceful.
When he finished, he gently placed the entire plate of shrimp in front of Natasha.
“Help yourself,” Jared said, pushing the plate toward her.
Natasha paused, a bit surprised.
She never thought he’d actually peel the shrimp for her.
“Thanks!”
She quickly thanked him.
Her cheeks flushed.
Jared’s heart melted seeing her like that.
Right then, he’d do anything for her, no matter what.
Natasha finished the shrimp and was full.
Jared called the waiter over to settle the bill.
Natasha went to the restroom.
But as soon as she stepped out, she bumped straight into Percy at the doorway.
Percy’s gaze was shadowed, locked onto her without blinking. “Why didn’t you say hi to me before leaving?”

Chapter 290 Twice-Divorced Women
Natasha didn’t bother saying anything to him.
She snapped, “Get out of the way.”
But Percy didn’t budge. Instead, he stood there brazenly, shamelessly checking her out.
A mocking smirk tugged at his lips. “So, you’ve hooked up with Jared now, huh?”
Natasha instantly felt a surge of annoyance at his choice of words.
Her voice turned cold. “It’s none of your business anymore.”
Percy’s chest burned with rage.
“So, now that you’ve latched onto Jared, you’ve got someone powerful to rely on. Guess you don’t need me anymore, Huh?
he sneered.
Natasha shot him a frosty glare. “You don’t know anything about me, so stop spouting nonsense right here.”
Percy’s eyes bore into her. “Answer me, are you sleeping with Jared or not?”
