Chapter 301 Not Taking Him Seniously

Chapter 301 Not Taking Him Seriously

For the following few days, Jared picked Natasha up from work as usual. He never pushed her for an answer, as if he let her take the lead, and followed her pace. Natasha felt at ease with the way Jared handled things.

One evening, Natasha was having dinner with Dorothy. They caught up on each other’s lives, chatting about what had been going on lately. Suddenly, Dorothy asked, “Nat, Thanksgiving break is coming up. Any plans?”

Natasha raised an eyebrow. “Just gonna stay home, sleep, read, and scroll through my phone.”

Dorothy’s mouth twitched. “Seriously? That sounds so boring. Don’t you have any plans to go for a trip?”

Natasha replied, “A trip? It’s always packed. I don’t want to be crammed in with a bunch of people.”

Dorothy suggested, “Why don’t we check out some tourist spots overseas?”

Natasha said, “It’s crowded everywhere, even abroad.”

‘These days, it doesn’t matter if you’re in the country or overseas; everywhere’s packed; Natasha thought.

Dorothy said, “Or we could just find some off-the-beaten-path place.”

Natasha thought it over. “If you’re really set on going, I can consider.” What Natasha didn’t realize was that Percy, walking past, overheard her.

“Natasha?” Suddenly, an unfamiliar woman’s voice called out from nearby. Natasha looked toward the voice and saw Percy and his new flame standing right beside their table out of nowhere.

‘They’re probably passing by,’ Natasha guessed. ‘But seriously, what a coincidence!”

They ran into each other again, of all people. Natasha gave them both a quick once-over. Percy was dressed to the nines in a high-end suit. He looked like he had it all together, the picture of success.

Meanwhile, his new flame, Joan, was hanging onto his arm, acting all sweet and clingy. The way she looked at him was as if he were her whole world.

Natasha had zero interest in watching them flaunt their relationship. And honestly, the fact that Percy’s new girlfriend dared to call her just made her seriously cringe.

‘Seriously, Percy and I are already divorced. Why did you even bother to call me?’ she grumbled to herself. ‘Do you think it’s still in the old days, where guys could have a whole harem?’ Natasha rolled her eyes inwardly and ignored the two eyesores’

existence.

Seeing Natasha ignoring Joan, Percy’s face clouded over. “Natasha, Joan says hi to you,” Percy said, his voice icy.

“I don’t know her,” Natasha replied flatly. She didn’t bother with pleasantries, giving Percy the cold shoulder without a second thought.

Percy was fuming; his expression turned even darker. ‘Who do you think you are now?’ Percy thought. ‘Just because Jared’ s got your back, you think you’re hot stuff now, huh? You actually have the nerve to embarrass me like this in public?’ Percy seethed.

Percy wrapped his arm around Joan and sat down right in front of Natasha, making sure she couldn’t miss it. “Her name’s Joan Simonds, and she’s my girlfriend now,” Percy deliberately introduced her with formality.

Actually, introducing Crystal wasn’t what Percy really cared about. He was merely dying to see how Natasha would take the news that he had a new girlfriend. But Natasha totally let him down; she didn’t react at all. She didn’t even bat an eye, as if she were an outsider.

Percy was infuriated by her utterly indifferent expression. He was so furious that he almost lost his cool on the spot. But before he could even blow up, Natasha had already stood up.

“Excuse me, I need to use the restroom,” she said, her tone cool and detached. She turned and walked toward the restroom, not sparing Percy a single glance.

Under the table, Percy’s hand clenched into a fist, and the veins on his forehead bulged with anger. ‘Natasha had never dared to treat me like this before. Now she actually has the nerve to disrespect me and not take me seriously because Jared’s backing her up; Percy fumed inwardly.

He shot up from his seat, fuming, and followed after Natasha. Joan was about to follow after him when Dorothy, sitting across from her, fired off a sarcastic comment. “I should’ve checked my luck before leaving the house today. I actually ran smack into a walking jinx!”

Joan’s expression changed. “Who are you calli.

Dorothy shot her a look of pure disdain. “I didn’t name anyone. If you think it’s about you, that’s your problem.”

“You!” Joan was so mad she could barely get the word out. She was itching to tear Dorothy’s mouth to shreds right the

and there.

However, Joan was petite while Dorothy towered over her, strong and imposing. There was no way Joan could stand a chance against her. No matter how furious she was, all she could do was swallow her anger and back down.

Natasha had just stepped out of the restroom when she spotted Percy’s tall, familiar figure leaning against the wall. He stood there, imposing as ever.

Between his long fingers was a cigarette, and he was exhaling smoke in slow, steady drags. His whole presence radiated a chilling, sinister aura.

Natasha had wanted to ignore him. She was ready to walk away as if he were just another stranger. But as she passed by. his hand suddenly grabbed her wrist tightly. Before Natasha could even react, Percy pulled her into the corner of the wall.

He pinned her against the wall, blocking her escape with his arm above her head, towering over her as he stared down. His eyes were gloomy and cold, as if they could swallow up all the light. “Why are you just ignoring me?” he asked.

Natasha seriously felt speechless. “We’re already divorced. Why would I even bother talking to you?” she replied.

Percy’s face turned stormy. “Divorced? Why did we even split up? Was it because you betrayed me first, running off with some rich guy?” He didn’t name Jared directly, but everyone knew who he was talking about.

Natasha’s brows furrowed. “Why did we divorce? Don’t you really know what went down?” It was Percy who, after marrying her, got involved with her sister Joelle, and that was what shattered their marriage.

‘Instead of owning up to your own mess, now you’re trying to pin it all on me,’ Natasha thought.

Percy closed in on her, his eyes blazing red with anger. “I’m asking you now; what’s really going on?”

His expression was fierce and intimidating. His whole presence was icy and threatening. It was like he could send her straight to the deepest pits of hell.
