Chapter 300 Her Touch
Chapter 300 Her Touch
“What?” Natasha’s mind was spinning at this moment, almost forgetting how to think.
Jared leaned in close, his voice low and teasing. “Did you feel it hot when you touched it?”
Natasha instinctively recalled how it felt in her hand. Jared had been working out for years, and his body was solid with well-defined muscles. It was firm to the touch, yet with a certain elasticity when pressed. It also felt feverish, She could imagine how explosive he would be in bed.
She shook her head, then nodded. Her cheeks flushed bright red. She habitually shook her head, trying to snap herself out of it. ‘Oh my god, what am I thinking?’ Natasha thought. ‘Am I seriously coveting his body?’
“I… I don’t know,” Natasha stammered, her eyes flickering nervously as she replied, guilt written all over her face. Jared’s deep eyes locked onto hers. “You don’t know? Then touch it again.” He loved the way her hands felt on him. Every time, he would feel a rush of excitement he couldn’t explain and would always crave her touch again.
Natasha’s eyes widened. ‘Did he just ask me to touch him again?’ Natasha thought, her heart racing. ‘How am I going to survive this? I really don’t want to get a nosebleed from this,’ she thought, cheeks burning, feeling overwhelmed.’
“No, there’s no need…” Natasha stammered, shaking her head in a fluster.
Jared leaned in closer. “It’s fine, I don’t mind.”
Natasha’s lips twitched. ‘You might not mind, but I sure do!’ she thought, feeling even more flustered. “No, really, that’s not necessary,” Natasha stood her ground, refusing without hesitation.
Jared finally stopped, deciding not to push her any further. “My offer just now still stands. Whenever you’re ready, just come find me,” he said, his voice steady and reassuring. After saying that, he started clearing the dishes and headed to the kitchen to wash up.
Seeing Jared bustling around the kitchen, Natasha had mixed feelings. That night, she slept in the guest room at Jared’s villa, her mind racing with thoughts. She thought about herself, Jared, and Percy.
It was not that she never considered being with Jared in the future. Emotionally, she was inclined toward him as well. After all, up to this point, he was the person who had treated her the best in the world.
Her biological parents had disliked her since childhood. Her husband also looked down on her after she grew up and got married. Whether it was her in-laws or her own family, none of them ever treated her with any real respect.
Jared was the only one who truly respected her, cared for her, and protected her. Of course, Natasha would have feelings for him. But she also knew, deep down, that there was no way she and Jared could ever be together.
The gap in their status and social standing was worlds apart. She was just the illegitimate daughter of the Whitter family, a hidden, shameful secret. But Jared was the heir to the Rundell family. Moreover, she had been married once before, while this would be his first marriage.
She didn’t even need to think hard to know that if she really got together with Jared, they would face countless obstacles in
the future.
Besides, there was no real emotional foundation between them; they had only been friends with benefits for a while. Compared to the challenges they would have to face ahead, that was barely worth mentioning.
‘How many men actually stick around for the long haul? Most of them merely mess with women’s feelings and bodies, then ditch them when things get complicated, she thought.
She had seen way too many scumbags who loved messing with women’s feelings just for fun. In the end, they always put themselves first, never caring about anyone else.
If she took it seriously, she would be the one to lose. It was better to stay clear-headed and rational, and not to agree with Jared. That way, her heart wouldn’t fall for him, and she wouldn’t give him the chance to hurt or deceive her.
‘Otherwise, I’m afraid that in the end I would lose both my body and heart, and be left with nothing at all,’ she thought.
The following morning, Natasha got up very early on purpose. After a quick wash, she slipped out the door. She planned to sneak out while Jared was still asleep, so she wouldn’t have to face him and feel awkward.
But the moment Natasha stepped out of the villa she smarked right into lared’s chest. He had just finished his morning jog outside and was drenched in sweat.

She scrambled to push him off, but Jared grabbed her waist and yanked her right up against him. “Let go of me” Natasha snapped, her cheeks burning with embarrassment and frustration.
Jared’s deep eyes locked onto hers, seeing right through her. “What, you’re sneaking out?”
“I’m not!” Natasha hurriedly defended.
Jared just smiled, letting it slide. Then he dipped his head and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. “Wait for me in the dining room,” he said.
“But…” Natasha’s expression froze. She was dying to bolt right then and there.
Jared flicked her forehead. “Don’t even think about sneaking off with some lame excuse.” With that, Natasha had no excuse to escape.
Seeing Jared head upstairs to take a shower, she had no choice but to return to the dining room. She sat down by the chair, her mood uneasy and restless. ‘What if he asks me later for my answer to the question last night? How am I supposed to respond?’ she thought.
There was no way she could say yes, but turning him down was just too cruel. She could tell Jared’s feelings for her were real. Having to reject someone who truly cared about her, again and again, was honestly painful for her.
She didn’t want to hurt him, yet she also couldn’t bring herself to make up her mind and be with him, only to end up hurting herself later. Neither moving forward nor stepping back felt right. Natasha was trapped in a conflicted dilemma.
When Jared came downstairs after his shower, he found Natasha sitting alone at the dining table, looking troubled. It was obvious she had something weighing on her mind. “What are you thinking?” Jared asked as he walked over to her.
Natasha snapped out of her daze. She shook her head instinctively. “Nothing.” Even though she said it was nothing, it was written all over her face. Of course, Jared noticed.
He sat down beside her. “About what I said last night, don’t feel pressured. Take your time; answer me whenever you’re ready,” Jared reassured her, his voice calm and comforting.
