Chapter 332
You damn brat!” Bernard slammed his hand on the table in anger.
“You’re a Whittier. How can you refuse to do such a small thing?” Bernard demanded.

Natasha let out a cold snort. “A Whittier? Dad, be honest with yourself. Have you ever truly treated me like one of your own?”
Now that she’d managed to get involved with Jared, Bernard finally realized she had value and suddenly decided she was part of the Whittier family.
Before this, in Bernard’s eyes, Natasha was just an illegitimate daughter he kept hidden away, a source of shame.
And this wasn’t some trivial matter. She’d just looked over the contract. It was a multi-billion-dollar project. Was he seriously calling that a small thing?
Natasha and Jared had only just started seeing each other. Nothing was official yet.
Not even they knew what the future would bring.
Bernard opened his mouth and expected her to go ask Jared for a contract worth billions of dollars. Was that even fair?
There was no way Natasha could ask Jared for something like that.
Natasha didn’t want Jared to think she agreed to be his girlfriend because she was after something else.
Bernard glared at Natasha coldly. “If I didn’t consider you part of the Whittier family, why would I have let you work at Whittier Group?”
Natasha couldn’t help but scoff at that.
She gave him a mocking smirk. “You let me join Whittier Group? By putting me in the warehouse as a laborer?”
Joelle and Collin got parachuted in as vice presidents the moment they joined Whittier Group.
But Natasha? She had to start at the very bottom.
And not just any bottom. She was stuck doing grunt work in the warehouse.
Bernard said with a straight face, “I’m doing this for your own good! Starting from the bottom is to toughen you up, help you build a solid foundation, and let you climb your way up step by step.
“I’m trying to help you grow, that’s why I set these challenges for you. Don’t let all my effort go to waste.”
Honestly, it sounded legit.
If Bernard had treated her like he did with Joelle and Collin, maybe she would’ve bought it.
But of course, he only ever “trained” her this way.
Joelle and Collin? They got promoted straight to the top. They didn’t have to face a single challenge.
No one did favoritism quite like Bernard. He was in a league of his own.
If this had been before, Natasha would’ve confronted Bernard right then and exposed his schemes.
But not anymore
Sat,
Chapter 332
Natasha thought, ‘Why should I waste my breath arguing with him?
‘Some things, as long as I know the truth, that is enough.
Calling him out directly will make things ugly.”
“Why don’t you ever ‘train’ Joelle and Collin?” Natasha muttered quietly, unable to hold back.
Bernard didn’t catch what she said.
“What did you just say?” Bernard blurted out.

Natasha shook her head, holding back her anger. “Nothing. So. Dad, how long do you plan to keep putting me through this ‘training?”
Bernard sat there with that superior, all-knowing dad attitude.
“You need to be patient. You’ve barely been in the warehouse. Have you already given up? If you can’t handle a bit of hardship now, how are you ever going to face real challenges later?”
Instead of giving her a real answer, Bernard ended up lecturing her.
Natasha let out a cold, mocking laugh in her heart.
On the surface, she kept her head down, pretending to be obedient.
“Yes, Dad,” she replied.
Bernard assumed Natasha was still the same meek and obedient girl as before.
He thought all it took was a few casual scoldings to get her to comply.
Bernard kept up his commanding tone, “Don’t forget, you’re a Whittier. Your job is to serve the family and always put our interests first. I’m handing this contract over to you. Make sure you sweet-talk Jared into signing it as soon as possible.”
“No!” Natasha snapped, refusing without hesitation.
Bernard’s face darkened. “What did you say?”
Natasha stared straight at him. “I said no. I’m not going to make Jared sign this contract.”
Bernard shot Natasha a bitter, vengeful glare. “You!”
Natasha finished what she had to say, then turned and left without looking back.
She ignored Bernard’s angry yelling behind her, not giving him a single thought.
What Natasha didn’t realize was that as soon as she left the chairman’s office, a hateful glare followed her every step.
Joelle glared daggers at Natasha’s retreating figure.
She was seething with jealousy, barely able to contain it.
Bernard had never once called Natasha into his office alone before.
Now he was suddenly treating Natasha like she mattered, all because Natasha, that little bitch, had managed to get close to Jared
Why her Joelle fumed.
11:42 Sat,
Chapter 332
Even Percy didn’t want Natasha anymore, so what made Natasha so special that Jared would actually want her?
Joelle couldn’t believe Jared actually liked Natasha.
This time, Joelle was hell-bent on making Natasha pay. She’d show her who’s in charge.

As soon as Natasha returned to the warehouse section, a guy from the team walked over to her.
“Natasha, head down to the underground warehouse and fetch a batch of goods,” he said.
He handed her the stock number and made sure to mention it was urgent.
Natasha didn’t know him, but she’d seen him around before and knew he was part of the warehouse crew.
Since she was still the newbie, she had no reason to turn down the task.
Besides, after that whole kissing incident with Jared, pretty much everyone in the warehouse was gossiping about how she was his girlfriend now.
She couldn’t throw her weight around because of Jared’s status.
If she did, the other coworkers would judge her even harder.
“Alright.” Natasha said.
Natasha nodded and went down to the underground warehouse alone.
She found the goods matching the stock number she’d been given.
She was just about to head out…
Suddenly, the warehouse lights flickered and went out.
She realized she was trapped inside.
Natasha couldn’t help but feel terrified.
She frantically shouted, “Help! Someone, I’m trapped in here!”
Darkness had always been her biggest fear, ever since she was a kid.
Whenever she “misbehaved”, like talking back to Joelle or standing up to Collin’s bullying, Roxanne and her dad would punish her.
They’d lock her in a pitch-black room.
Sometimes, she’d be locked up for days on end.
Natasha would be left all alone, forced to go hungry inside.
When she finally got out, her eyes couldn’t bear the light at all.
Because of that, Natasha had always carried a deep-seated fear of darkness and confined spaces.
Natasha was most afraid of being alone in a dark, closed-off place.
Now the warehouse lights suddenly went out, plunging everything into darkness.
