Chapter 333
‘Help! Somebody help me!” Natasha shouted, her voice cracking with desperation.
She slumped to the floor, her whole body losing strength.
Her face turned ghostly pale
And her breath grew faster and more frantic.

Joelle headed back to the warehouse and found the guy she’d bribed.
“Did you get it done?” Joelle asked, her voice icy.
The man kept his head down and said, “Miss Whittier, I did exactly what you told me. I tricked Natasha into the underground warehouse, locked the door after she went in, and shut off all the lights.”
Joelle felt a surge of delight in her chest.
“Good. Very good!” she said.
A flash of vengeful pleasure lit up her eyes.
She knew Natasha suffered from claustrophobia.
That was exactly why she’d instructed the warehouse employee to lure Natasha into the underground storage.
Joelle had only one thing in mind.
Her only aim was to see Natasha dead.
She could’ve spared Natasha’s worthless life, but Natasha just couldn’t take a hint.
Natasha actually had the nerve to go up against Joelle.
Well, if that was how Joelle wanted to play, then she wouldn’t hold back.
Joelle thought, ‘Does Natasha think that just because she got close to Jared, she can take everything that’s rightfully mine?
‘Like hell I’d ever let her get away with it.
‘And there’s no way in hell I’m letting Dad and Roxanne find out Natasha is their real daughter.
‘Natasha has to die.
‘Only then will I finally be at peace.
‘Only then can I keep living as the Whittier family’s heiress.
‘Only then will Percy finally notice me again.
This time, Natasha won’t make it out alive.
But I just checked the underground warehouse, and Natasha was screaming miserably in there. I’m not sure if something happened to her. Should we just ignore her?” the man asked.

He hesitated for a moment before telling Joelle what he’d just witnessed.
Joelle scoffed. “I’m just scaring her a little. What’s the big deal?”
But deep down, she thought, “The more desperate Natasha’s screams, the better.
‘I want her to suffer right up to her last breath. She doesn’t deserve a peaceful death.
However, the man still felt uneasy.

He couldn’t help but say. “Isn’t Natasha your half-sister? She’s the chairman’s youngest daughter. If something happens to her, I’d be the one in real trouble.”
Joelle was the Whittier family’s heiress, so nobody would dare give her any grief.
But if anything went wrong, the man would be the one left holding the bag.
“I said leave it alone. If you were going to be this timid, you shouldn’t have agreed to help me,” Joelle snapped.
She shot the man an annoyed glance, clearly fed up.
She was honestly sick of his constant whining.
“Don’t worry. If anything happens, I’ll handle it,” Joelle said.
Hearing that, the man finally relaxed a little.
“Yes, Miss Whittier!” he replied.

What they didn’t realize was that their conversation was overheard by Margaret, who happened to be passing by.
Margaret was never one to stick her nose in other people’s business.
But when she overheard those two scheming against Natasha, she couldn’t help but feel uneasy about it.
Margaret decided to check out the underground warehouse herself.
Sure enough, she heard Natasha crying out in distress inside.
And when Margaret looked, she saw that Natasha had been locked in from the outside.
Margaret figured this could turn deadly. Natasha might actually end up dead.
So, she secretly made a call.
At the Rundell Group’s CEO office, Jared got an urgent call from the front desk.
“Mr. Rundell, we just got a call from someone who says she is Natasha’s colleague. She said it was an emergency and needed to speak with you,” the receptionist said.
Jared’s gaze sharpened.
“Put her through!” he ordered.
“Yes” the receptionist replied.
This is Jared Rundell,” he said.

“Mr. Rundell, this is Natasha’s coworker. Natasha’s in trouble. Ehe’s trapped in the Whittier Group’s underground warehouse. Please, you have to come save her, right now!” said Margaret.
Margaret hung up as soon as she finished.
She kept her name to herself.
Margaret only made the call because she was genuinely afraid this could turn deadly.
But she knew that in the Whittier Group, Bernard and Joelle were the ones calling the shots.
Margaret didn’t want to make enemies over Natasha.
Margaret thought. Who knows if it is Bernard or Joelle who ordered someone to lock Natasha up in the underground
warehouse?
If people found out I’d helped Natasha, I’d definitely become a thorn in Joelle’s side.”
Jared’s brows knitted together, his eyes darkening in an instant.
Natasha’s in trouble!’ Jared thought.
Without a second thought, he shot to his feet and strode toward the door.
“Mr. Rundell, you have a meeting in ten minutes…” his secretary said.
She’d just come in to remind him.
But she saw that Jared was already heading out.
“Cancel it!” Jared ordered, his tone leaving no room for argument.
The secretary just stood there, staring in shock as Jared strode out.
This international meeting was extremely urgent. Jared had repeatedly reminded her not to forget to alert him.
Why is Mr. Rundell leaving just as the meeting is about to begin?’ the secretary wondered, baffled.

Jared marched straight into the Whittier Group’s warehouse, flanked by his bodyguards.
“Who are you? How did security let you in?” someone demanded.
Seeing Jared, a stranger, someone blocked his path.
Jared nodded to his bodyguards, who immediately restrained the person trying to stop him.
He turned to the others and asked, “Has anyone seen Natasha?”
“No!”
Everyone he asked shook their heads.
“Where did Natasha go?” he pressed, his voice sharp with urgency.
Sull no one had a clue.
Finally, he asked, “Where’s the underground warehouse?”

Someone showed him the way.
Jared didn’t waste a second. He rushed straight to the underground warehouse.

Inside the warehouse, Natasha was drenched in sweat, huddled in the corner, terrified.
Her throat was raw from crying.
She could barely make a sound anymore.
“Help! Is anybody out there?” Natasha called out, her voice hoarse and desperate.
“Can someone please help me?” she pleaded, her voice cracking with fear.
Natasha was terrified of the dark.
Especially when it was the suffocating darkness of a tight, enclosed space.
That kind of darkness would dredge up all the bad memories from her childhood.
The warehouse was pitch black.
There wasn’t a hint of light anywhere.
