Percy watched as Natasha got into Jared’s luxury car and as the car pulled away, fading into the distance.

His heart felt more hollow with every passing second.

She seemed so unfamiliar to him now, so different from before.

She told Dorothy she was with Jared now and couldn’t go to meet her.

Then, she settled back into her seat, letting herself relax.

Last night. Jared had almost drained her dry.

After working all day, she was wiped out. All she wanted now was to crash and sleep.

Jared could tell she was exhausted.

He reached out, wrapped his arm around her shoulders, and pulled her close.

“Awake? Get up, it’s time for dinner,” he said.

He came over to the bed and gently urged her.

Natasha just lay there, not moving a muscle.

“I’m not hungry yet. Let me sleep a little longer,” she said lazily.

It’s already almost nine, Jared thought. ‘If she keeps sleeping now, she’ll end up sleeping straight through till morning.

Jared tried to be patient as he coaxed her, “Skipping dinner is bad for your stomach.”

Natasha didn’t even respond to him.

She didn’t even bother to open her eyes.

Jared just lifted the covers and slid in beside her.

His big hand settled on her waist, pulling her into his arms.

“What are you doing?” Natasha asked, her voice still heavy with sleep.

She stirred, sensing something was off as she slowly woke up.

He savored her sweetness, a taste that belonged only to her.

Natasha had barely gotten a grip on herself when Jared’s fiery kiss crashed over her, wiping out all her reason once more.

He let her go, at least for now.

She was definitely not up for it tonight, unless he wanted to wear her out in bed.

Jared gave her one last, intense gaze before finally getting up and leaving the bed.

“I’ll be waiting for you in the dining room,” he called out as he walked away.

Now that Jared was gone, Natasha finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She quickly freshened up and made her way downstairs.

Sure enough, Jared was waiting for her in the dining room.

Natasha made her way over and sat down across from him.

The table was loaded with dishes, and every single one was her favorite.

Natasha hadn’t felt hungry at all while she was lying in bed.

But now, with the smell of food filling the air, her appetite kicked in.

She started eating with gusto.

And his food was still untouched.

Just seeing her made him feel incredibly satisfied, and nothing else mattered.

“I’m really just too exhausted today…” Natasha said, trying to make him understand.
