Natasha’s first instinct was to pull away from Jared.

But Jared locked his arms around her waist, keeping her pinned on his lap, refusing to let her go.

“Mr. Rundell, you…” Natasha whispered, her eyes wide with shock.

Natasha stared at him, her heart suddenly racing.

Jared fixed his eyes on her, his gaze lingering on her delicate features. “Do you think just anyone can get into my car?”

As he spoke, Natasha looked away, as if his gaze had scorched her.

She thought, ‘He is the only one who ever uses his car, so how could my earring just disappear?

‘He wouldn’t have taken it, would he?’

Of course, she knew that was impossible.

He was the CEO. He could get anything he wanted. There was no way he would ever need to steal a tiny earring from her.

Still, she couldn’t help but glance up at him, shooting him a doubtful look.

Still, deep down, Natasha felt he kind of owed her a replacement.

But he was the CEO, and last time, after the trip back from the stables, he’d had his driver take her home, and she’d dozed off, which was how she lost the earring in the first place.

She felt totally out of sorts being pressed against him like this.

“What do you think?” Jared murmured, his tone full of teasing challenge.

He picked up a lock of her hair, idly playing with it in his palm.

He leaned in, his lips nearly brushing her ear as he spoke.

Natasha trembled, unable to control her reaction.

Her skin tingled, goosebumps rising instantly.

Without thinking, Natasha tried to pull herself off his lap.

“Keep squirming like that, and I can’t guarantee what I’ll do,” Jared warned, his voice husky and dangerous.

Her beautiful eyes flew wide open in shock.

“Why is he reacting to me so intensely?’ Natasha thought, completely caught off guard.

“Mr. Rundell, you…” Natasha’s voice shook, barely believing what was happening.

She couldn’t believe it, turning her head away.

Natasha didn’t even have time to react.

Jared kissed her hard and fast, his kiss rough and urgent.

He let her feel just how much he wanted her.

Natasha instinctively tried to pull away.

But he pulled her onto his lap, spreading her legs apart so she was facing him.

His lips stayed locked on hers, never letting go for even a moment.

Natasha was swept up in his dominant, intoxicating aura, her mind spinning, her guard slipping away.

It wasn’t until Jared thrust his large hand under her shirt that Natasha snapped back to reality.

Outraged, she slapped him hard across the face.

“I seduce you? When did I ever do that?” Natasha blurted out, her voice incredulous.

Jared’s eyes locked onto her, his voice slow and full of accusation. “You always use your panic attacks as an excuse to throw signals, checking me out, and I held myself back every time.

“But just now, you pretended your earring was lost in my car, crouched right in front of me, sticking your ass out to tempt me. You basically forced me to do something about it…”

Natasha was so shocked she was practically speechless.

‘He kissed me, and now he’s blaming me for it?’ Natasha thought, totally confused.

To be fair, some of what he said was actually true.

Back when her panic attacks acted up, she really had eyed his body more than once.

But this time, she really did lose her earring in his car.

‘Is he seriously saying I pretended to lose my earring just to seduce him?’ Natasha thought, completely dumbfounded.

“Mr. Rundell, you misunderstood me, I really didn’t…” Natasha hurried to defend herself.

“Not what?” Jared’s eyes narrowed, locking onto her. “Are you seriously telling me you’ve never wanted me?”

Natasha bit her lip, muttering, “Okay, maybe I have. But not this time.”

This time, she really was just here to find her earring.
