Chapter 48 Divorce?
Natasha’s hand clenched tightly without her realizing it.
She forced herself to explain, “Who doesn’t have someone they can’t forget? My sister is already married, right?”
Jared’s handsome face suddenly darkened. “So you don’t mind that your husband has someone else in his heart, and that someone is your sister?”
“It was in the past!” Natasha quickly emphasized.
It was bad enough that Jared knew about her private mess.
Even if she was serious about getting a divorce, she had to keep it under wraps.
If word about her splitting up with Percy ever reached the Whittier or Grosso families, there was no way the divorce would go through.
Jared’s eyes suddenly turned icy and indifferent.
He’d been planning to ask her to divorce Percy and be with him.
But after her explanation, he was caught off guard and couldn’t finish his sentence.
He thought, ‘It seems she has absolutely no intention of getting a divorce.
‘Is she still not over that loser husband of hers, the one whose heart belongs to someone else?
‘Does she really think her husband will suddenly change his mind just because her sister got married?’
Jared’s brows furrowed tightly.
The air around him felt heavy and suffocating, as if his mood cast a shadow over the whole room.
Natasha could clearly sense that he was angry.
But she couldn’t figure out why he was so upset.
‘Even if he knows my husband has feelings for my sister, I’m the one who’s been cheated on. Why is he so upset?’ Natasha thought.

After work that evening, Natasha met up with Dorothy for dinner.
Then they swung by a designer boutique to shop for dresses.*
Dorothy tried on several dresses, but none of them were quite right.
Either they didn’t fit her figure, or the price was way too high.
Finally, she set her eyes on an emerald green peacock dress displayed on the mannequin.
“Wow, this dress is absolutely gorgeous!” Dorothy exclaimed.
She was totally blown away and pointed at the dress, telling the sales assistant, “Can I try that one on?”
The sales assistant apologized, “Sorry, but this dress is a limited edition designed by our top designer specifically for Miss Hopkins. There’s only one, and it’s not for sale.”
Dorothy blinked in surprise. “Miss Hopkins? Do you mean the heiress of the Hopkins family, Lizzie Hopkins, who just returned to the country?”
Lizzie was the ultimate socialite, a true heiress from one of the most powerful families.
She was also a world-famous model.
Natasha nodded, thinking, ‘Only someone like Lizzie could have this kind of influence.’
“Whatever. It’s a size too small for me anyway, so if you guys like it, go ahead and try it,” Lizzie said casually.
As Lizzie’s voice sounded, she stepped out of the VIP fitting room, with the store manager attending to her every need. Dorothy’s eyes sparkled. “Thank you, Miss Hopkins!”
She quickly stepped forward to thank her.
Lizzie narrowed her eyes, sizing Dorothy up from head to toe, then glanced at Natasha behind her. “Not everyone can pull off this dress. It’s not really your style, but your

Chapter 48 Divorce?
She hadn’t intended to buy anything for herself.
Dorothy urged her, “You’ve got that celebration party coming up in a couple of days. You can’t seriously wear another one of your sister’s hand-me-down dresses, can you?”
Ever since she was little, Natasha had always ended up wearing Joelle’s hand-me-downs.
Joelle was always super extravagant. She’d buy tons of new clothes, but only wear them once or twice before tossing them aside.
If Joelle was in a good mood, she’d have the servants pass them on to Natasha.
But if she was in a bad mood, she’d rather throw them in the trash than let Natasha have them.
Natasha had gotten used to wearing Joelle’s cast-offs a long time ago.
But now, Joelle had even handed Percy over to her like he was just another hand-me-down.. Natasha just couldn’t stomach the idea of being handed someone else’s leftovers anymore. She was grown now, independent, and she refused to be anyone’s dumping ground. When Dorothy mentioned Joelle, Natasha finally nodded, a hint of resolve flickering in her eyes. She took the emerald green dress and headed into the fitting room.
When she stepped out, everyone in the store was absolutely blown away.
The dress fit Natasha like it was made just for her..
It made her skin look even smoother and showed off her gorgeous curves in all the right ways.
“Natasha, you look absolutely stunning in that dress!” Dorothy was the first to praise her.
Lizzie walked over too, a satisfied smile on her face. “See? I have great taste. This dress was meant for you.”
Natasha turned to the sales assistant. “How much is this dress?”
The sales assistant replied, “This dress was designed for Miss Hopkins, and she’s already paid for it.”
Natasha turned to Lizzie. “How much is it? I’ll pay you back.”
Lizzie shook her head with a smile. “No need, it’s just a dress! Consider it my gift for befriending you.”
Natasha hesitated. “I can’t possibly accept this.”
She and Lizzie had never even met before, and it felt way too awkward to accept such an expensive dress from someone she’d just met.
“I’m Lizzie Hopkins.” Lizzie introduced herself, reaching out her hand to Natasha.
Natasha was still hesitating, so Dorothy gave her a subtle nudge.
‘You really don’t want to get on her bad side, Dorothy thought.
“Nice to meet you. I am Natasha Whittier.” Natasha shook her hand.
Lizzie even exchanged contact info with her before leaving.
“That’s the number one socialite for you. Her poise and the way she speaks, no ordinary heiress could ever compare!” Dorothy sighed, watching Lizzie walk away.
Natasha also felt that Lizzie and Joelle Whittier were worlds apart as socialites.
They weren’t even in the same league.
Still, Natasha couldn’t help but wonder, “Isn’t Lizzie being a bit too friendly, handing over a designer dress to someone she has just met?’
At the Sky One Club, Jared was playing card games with his close friends, Nicolas and Algernon Frost.
Normally, Jared would never lose, but tonight he was bleeding chips.
The others were making a killing, stacking up their winnings while Jared kept taking losses.
“Jared’s acting off tonight. He’s throwing out cards that make no sense. What’s going on with him?” Algernon whispered.
Nicolas stole a glance at Jared, trying not to get caught.
Jared’s face looked as indifferent as always, but his eyes were shadowed with a hint of menace.
“Jared, what’s up with you tonight? Did you get your heart broken or something?” Nicolas teased, leaning in.
