Chapter 51 Be Her Remedy

Chapter 51 Be Her Remedy

In her panic, Natasha suddenly collided with a waitress who was carrying a tray.

“Miss, are you alright?” the waitress asked, concern in her voice.

Natasha shook her head and tried to push herself up.

But her body felt increasingly limp, her strength slipping away bit by bit.

To her shock, she couldn’t even manage to stand.

“Are you feeling alright?” The waitress crouched down beside Natasha, steadying her.

When Natasha realized it was a woman, she felt her guard drop a little.

“Could you please take me outside?” Natasha asked, her voice shaky.

“Sure, come with me,” the waitress said.

Leaning on the waitress for support, Natasha left the party hall and entered the elevator.

Her head grew heavier, the dizziness making her vision swim.

Through the haze, Natasha caught the waitress pressing a button for an upper floor, not the lobby or the parking garage.

She instantly realized something was wrong.

In the split second before the elevator doors closed, Natasha lunged out.

“Ms. Whittier!” the waitress called out.

The waitress quickly rushed-out of the elevator after Natasha, calling out to her.

Alarms went off in Natasha’s head.

She tried to pick up speed, pushing herself to escape.

But her legs barely cooperated, her body weak and unsteady, so the waitress was on her heels in no time.

“Ms. Whittier, where are you going?” the waitress called out.

Natasha struggled instinctively, her voice sharp with anger, “Let go of me. Who put you up to this?”

She realized that the strange sensation in her body was nothing like her usual episodes.

When those episodes hit, she just felt a strong urge, but her limbs never went weak like this.

Right now, it felt way too much like someone had slipped her something.

Natasha quickly realized that the drink Frank had handed her earlier must have been tampered with.

“Was it Frank?” she demanded, unable to hold back her suspicion.

The waitress didn’t answer, just kept tugging her toward the elevator.

Natasha knew that if they succeeded, she’d be finished tonight.

She summoned every ounce of strength she had left to break free.

But with whatever they’d slipped her sapping all her strength, Natasha could barely move a muscle.

Everyone was still in the party hall. Even if she screamed for help, no one would hear her.

Desperate, Natasha sank her teeth into the waitress’s arm.

As the woman yelped in pain, Natasha took the chance to stagger off in another direction.

At last, Natasha caught sight of a tall figure near the floor-to-ceiling windows, his back to her as he spoke on the phone.

Throwing caution to the wind, she rushed straight toward him.

“Help me…” Natasha whispered, her voice barely audible.

Jared turned around and caught her as she stumbled into his arms.

Seeing this, the waitress chasing her didn’t dare make another move. She ducked her head and slipped away.

“What’s wrong?” Jared asked, his voice full of concern.

He pulled her close by the waist, his eyes wide

Jared realized, ‘So that’s why she wasn’t in the,

The moment his large, cool hand with strong fingers gripped her, Natasha felt a cool sensation wash over her.

She couldn’t help but want to lean even closer to him.

“I’m not feeling well…” Natasha whispered, her voice shaky.

She gripped his collar tightly, her body unusually limp, even her breath burning hot against him.

Jared could tell something was seriously wrong, his brows furrowed instantly.

‘Damn it, who would dare mess with her at a party? Are they tired of living? Jared thought, rage boiling up inside him.

“What happened?” Jared asked, his voice low and urgent.

A familiar, strikingly handsome face came into view through Natasha’s blurred vision.

Only now, with him so close, did she realize she’d just crashed right into the arms of Jared.

“I think there was something wrong with the drink I had earlier…” Natasha whispered, barely able to get the words out.

Jared’s mind raced. She’d almost certainly been drugged.

Without a second thought, he scooped her up and rushed straight to the penthouse suite upstairs.

By the time Jared set Natasha down on the bed, the effects of the drug were really starting to hit her.

She felt like she was burning up all over.

Her pretty, delicate face was flushed a deep red.

Her eyes were glazed and watery, shimmering with heat.

This was way more unbearable than her usual attacks, she could hardly take it.

“I can’t take it anymore…” Natasha whimpered softly, her voice shaky and full of distress.

Her lips parted as she panted heavily, struggling to catch her breath.

Her sanity was slipping away, burned up by the fire raging inside her.

Worst of all, Jared was still in the room, refusing to leave.

Natasha knew deep down that being alone with a man in this state was asking for trouble.

With the last bit of willpower she had left, she forced herself to sit up. “Mr. Rundell, you need to go…”

Jared stood by the bed, looking down at her from above.

He let out a mocking laugh. “If I leave, what will you do?”

There was no way she could make it through this alone, not in the state she was in.

“Could you please call…” Natasha stammered, her voice barely audible.

Natasha’s words came out shaky and broken, desperation clear in her tone.

Before she could finish, Jared cut her off.

“Do you want your husband to come save you?” Jared said, his voice laced with mockery.

Natasha was at a loss for words.

After she married Percy, he wouldn’t even lay a finger on her.

She could not possibly expect him to help her now.

She only wanted Jared to call for an ambulance for her.

Given how she was feeling, she could barely even hold her phone, much less make a call herself.

“Your husband’s too far away to help you now. By the time he gets here, you’ll already be done for,” Jared said with a cold

smirk.

Natasha was drenched in sweat, her whole body burning up, she felt like she was about to start steaming.

She gritted her teeth and forced out, “Then, could you please take me to the hospital?”

Jared suddenly leaned in close, his voice low. “Are you really sure you want me to take you to the hospital right now?”

Natasha felt a wave of scorching masculine energy crash over her, making her head spin.

Her mind went completely blank for a few seconds.

She couldn’t even form a response to anything he asked.

Natasha thought, ‘God!
