Chapter 84 Keep Her from Leaving

Chapter 84 Keep Her from Leaving

The next morning, Natasha packed her things, ready to leave.

She’d already turned Jared down last night.

She was too embarrassed to stay at his place any longer.

But as she headed downstairs, Margot stopped her.

“Ms. Whittier, where are you going?” Margot asked.

“Margot, I’m going home,” Natasha replied honestly, not wanting to put Margot in an awkward spot. “Does Mr. Rundell know?” Margot asked anxiously.

“Could you let him know for me?” Natasha shook her head and headed for the villa’s front door.

Margot quickly called out, “Ms. Whittier, wait. Let me call Mr. Rundell and check with him first…”

In a spacious conference room, an important business negotiation was underway.

After the BC Project leak, Thalruar had sent key representatives to renegotiate with Rundell Group.

The senior executives were all present.

Jared was personally presiding over the meeting.

The Thalruarian delegation was already in position.

Both parties demonstrated their utmost seriousness.

“Let’s begin!” Jared announced with authority.

He was dressed in a black limited-edition bespoke suit that showed off his tall, striking build.

He radiated a powerful, elite presence that set him apart from everyone else.

The Thalruarian representatives threw out some tricky questions, making the executives break out in a cold sweat.

But Jared stayed cool and confident, handling everything with ease.

It was like nothing fazed him at all.

Even a multi-million dollar deal was handled with effortless charm and confidence as Jared breezed through the negotiations.

The two sides hammered out a deeper consensus on the BC Project and agreed on the revised details.

Everyone in the room was in awe of his remarkable skills and decisive leadership.

The BC Project had been leaked before and was on the verge of collapse.

But Jared single-handedly led the team, turned the tide, and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Jared had only been at the helm for less than three months, but he’d already led the company into a new era of brilliance.

The tough negotiations finally came to an end.

After careful consideration, both sides reached an agreement and were gearing up to sign on the dotted line.

The ill-timed ringtone suddenly pierced the room, breaking the tension.

Everyone shot nervous glances at each other.

They all thought, ‘Does someone wnat to get fired?

‘Seriously, who’d be crazy enough to leave their phone on during such a crucial meeting?’

“Hello…” A businesslike, commanding voice suddenly cut through the room.

Everyone gasped in shock.

They couldn’t believe that Jared, the guy who was always a stickler for discipline, was the one who broke his own rule.

“Sir, Ms. Whittier is trying to leave!” Margot’s voice was urgent over the phone.

Jared’s expression darkened instantly.

“Don’t let her go!” he snapped.

“But…” Margot faltered.

“I don’t care what you have to do, just make sure she doesn’t leave!” Jared’s tone brooked no argument.

Jared’s voice left no room for argument.

Margot was clearly in a tough spot.

She looked at Natasha with visible unease.

“Ms. Whittier, maybe you should wait for Mr. Rundell to get back before you leave?” Margot suggested, her voice full of hesitation.

Natasha was at a loss for words.

‘If I wait for Jared to come back, will I even be able to leave?’ she wondered.

But if she tried to leave now, she’d probably end up getting Margot in trouble.

Just as she was stuck in a tough spot, the doorbell suddenly rang.

Natasha and Margot both froze in surprise.

‘Did Jared really rush back already?’ Natasha thought, her heart skipping a beat.

“Sharon?” Margot blurted out, her eyes wide in surprise.

She opened the door and was taken aback.

It was Jared’s sister, Sharon Rundell, standing outside.

“Mr. Rundell isn’t here right now,” Margot said awkwardly.

She hesitated, unsure whether to let Sharon in.

Sharon arched her eyebrow. “I know he’s not around, but I’m not here for him.”

Margot froze, caught off guard.

Margot wondered, ‘She’s not here for Jared?

‘Could she actually be here for Natasha?’

Sharon walked right in without waiting for an invitation.

Her eyes landed on the woman standing by the sofa.

‘Who is this beautiful woman?’ Sharon thought, her gaze lingering on Natasha.

Even without a touch of makeup, Natasha’s features were delicate and refined, her figure slender and graceful.

Her skin was smooth and unreal.

She was pure yet tempting, that kind of angelic face with a hint of mischief that could drive anyone crazy.

‘No wonder my brother’s head over heels for her, Sharon thought.

“You’re Natasha, right?” Sharon asked, her eyes narrowing as she looked her up and down.

Sharon gave her a slow once-over, then strode right up to her, her gaze sharp and appraising.

“That’s me. Who are you?” Natasha replied, her tone cautious and a bit confused.

Natasha nodded, still unsure, her eyes full of questions.

Natasha thought, ‘She kind of looks like Jared.

‘But I can’t quite tell how they’re related.’

“I’m his sister, Sharon Rundell,” Sharon said, introducing herself.

Sharon introduced herself and extended her hand confidently.

Natasha shook her hand politely. “Hello, Miss Rundell.”

Sharon was dressed in designer couture, her makeup perfectly applied.

She radiated a sense of refined elegance and poise.

There was none of the arrogance or overbearing attitude that Joelle always showed.

‘Now this is what a true, well-bred heiress from high society looks like, Natasha thought, feeling a bit out of place.

Sharon motioned for Natasha to join her on the sofa.

Then she instructed Margot to brew a pot of fine coffee.

Once they were seated, Sharon cut straight to the chase. “What will it take for you to walk away from my brother?”

Natasha froze, surprised by the blunt question.

Natasha thought, ‘I never thought I’d actually end up in one of those cheesy drama scenes where the rich family tells the girl to leave.’

She’d just thought Sharon was so reasonable and classy. She guessed she was wrong about that.

Sharon said sincerely, “Honestly, I don’t have anything against you. If my brother has chosen you, I trust his judgment. But I also know you’re married.

“I don’t want him getting involved in your marriage and becoming the other woman. Someone who has to hide in the shadows. I hope you understand my intentions.”

Natasha’s discomfort faded, and she actually started to understand Sharon’s perspective..

“I know you’re just looking out for Jared, but you really don’t need to worry. Mr. Rundell and I already cleared things up last night,” Natasha replied.
