An Affair With The Ceo (Natasha and Jared) novel Chapter 87

Chapter 87 Ditched Him?

Chapter 87 Ditched Him?

Natasha felt dizzy, and her mind was clouded.

She could only sense a restless fire roaming inside her, making her feel unsettled.

Every time Jared kissed her, the fire inside her would calm down a little.

And when he caressed her and tangled with her even deeper, the relief was even greater.

She craved that closeness with him, more than she could ever admit.

Her condition made her crave him.

But deep down, Natasha knew it was only his body she needed.

If she let herself get swept up by her body’s urges and tangled with him now, she’d never be able to explain herself later.

Natasha fought desperately to resist the overwhelming desire burning inside her.

But Jared wouldn’t let her escape his grasp.

“Don’t move. Let me help you…” he murmured, his voice rough and low.

There was a wild, burning heat in his hazel eyes.

Natasha had no idea what he was about to do.

But her body couldn’t fight it anymore.

Jared’s kisses trailed lower, his lips finding her smooth, slender legs.

Natasha’s lashes trembled violently, like butterfly wings caught in a storm.

Her whole body went weak and numb all over.

The next morning, sunlight streamed into the bedroom.

Natasha woke up from her dream.

She slept all night soundly.

Ever since Jared had “cured” her nervous disorder last night, she felt completely refreshed and slept especially well.

But thinking about how Jared had helped her through her nervous disorder last night made Natasha’s cheeks flush and her

heart race.

‘Even though we hadn’t actually slept together, Jared had still… helped me in ways I never expected, Natasha thought.

She’d been married to Percy for so long, and she’d never experienced anything like that before.

And now, out of nowhere, she’d ended up doing something so daring with another guy.

And to top it off, he was her boss.

Natasha was so mortified, she felt like she couldn’t face anyone right now

Natasha thought, ‘Thank god Jared left for work early. If he were still here, I seriously wouldn’t know what to do.”

Natasha tossed the covers aside and hurried into the bathroom, desperate to wash away last night’s lingering embarrassment.

When Natasha stepped out of the bathroom, she heard her phone ringing.

She glanced at the screen. It was a call from Whittier Manor’s landline.

Natasha paused. After a moment’s hesitation, she picked up the call.

“Ms. Whittier, Mrs. Gideon didn’t come home last night, and her phone’s still off. I’m worried something might’ve happened

to her.”

It was Aileen McMahon, the maid who usually looked after Sandra, and her voice was full of anxiety.

Natasha’s brows knitted together.

‘Wasn’t Mom supposed to be celebrating her birthday with Joelle and Percy last night? Why did she suddenly not come home?’ Natasha wondered.

Natasha pressed Aileen for more details.

But Aileen had no clue that Joelle and Percy were supposed to be celebrating Sandra’s birthday with her.

All she knew was that Sandra had headed out last night looking happy.

The driver assigned to Sandra by Whittier Manor suddenly had something come up, so Sandra drove herself.

“Do you know where Mom went?” Natasha pressed, her voice urgent.

Aileen thought for a moment. “I think it was… Wander Way Club.”

‘Wander Way Club?’ Natasha thought, a sense of unease creeping in.

Natasha’s eyes narrowed.

She knew Joelle was always hanging out there.

It made sense if they were celebrating Sandra’s birthday at the Wander Way Club last night.

But the real issue was, why would Sandra stay out all night?

Natasha hung up with Aileen and immediately called Sandra.

But Sandra’s phone wasn’t even in the coverage area.

Natasha thought, ‘How could this be happening?

‘Mom has always kept a low profile at Whittier Manor, ever since she moved in.

‘No matter what, she never spent a night away from home.

Even if it was her birthday last night and Joelle was there to celebrate, there’s no reason she should have stayed out all night.’

A chill ran down Natasha’s spine. Something was definitely wrong with Sandra.

She hung up in a hurry and rushed out the door.

At Jared’s office, Derek knocked and walked in. “Mr. Rundell, we’ve got news about Marsh. He turned himself in at the police station this morning and admitted he was the one who leaked the BC Project Plan.” Derek reported as he approached the desk.

Jared’s lips pressed into a thin line, his gaze brooding and intense.

“He actually turned himself in?” said Jared.

He thought, ‘Marsh had been missing for days, clearly hiding out to avoid punishment.

‘But now he was back, confessing everything. This has to be Harley’s idea.’

“Marsh told the cops he stole the BC Project Plan and set up Natasha. He even admitted he hired someone to take her out. Says it was all his idea, acted solo, nobody else pulling the strings,” said Derek.

A sharp glint flashed in Jared’s hazel eyes. “Looks like someone’s desperate to throw people under the bus to save oneself.”

Jared thought, ‘It has to be Harley. I’m closing in, and Harley is feeling the heat.

‘On top of that, Harley’s overseas operations are falling apart.

‘Now that his backyard is burning, Harley can’t afford to keep going head-to-head with me.’

Derek said, “Marsh disappeared without a trace, then suddenly turns himself in. Hard not to suspect someone’s got him doing their dirty work.”

Jared replied, “If they’re ready to sacrifice him as a pawn, it’ll be nearly impossible to find proof of the mastermind. Now that there’s an official story out there, we’ll have to let it rest for now.”

Derek nodded, looking like he had something else on his mind.

“Mr. Rundell…” Derek said quietly.

Jared raised an eyebrow. “Something else?”

Derek couldn’t help but ask, “Now that this matter is over, has Natasha been cleared of suspicion? Can she come back to work?”

Jared’s hazel eyes flashed, sharp and predatory as he glanced at Derek.

“Why are you so worried about her? What, you got a crush on Natasha or something?” said Jared.

There was a clear threat in his tone.

Derek nearly jumped, shaking his head quickly. “Boss, you got it all wrong! Natasha and I are regular friends. I’m not your rival or anything.”

He muttered the last bit under his breath.

But Jared didn’t say anything in return, which was unexpected.
