Worried that last night’s decision had been made on impulse, Nicholas didn’t let Kenneth enter Dr. Yates’s ward until this

morning.

“Tomorrow,” Sierra said.

“What if he refuses to divorce you?” Holly asked. She was worried about the same thing.

“He will,” Sierra said.

She might still have doubts before the truth was revealed. But after everything that had happened, she was certain; so certain that the last traces of doubt had all been burned away.

Holly did not press for more after she saw Sierra acting like this. She just silently hoped Kenneth would figure everything out soon and tell John as quickly as possible.

Kenneth learned the full story around eleven in the morning. He didn’t tell John directly. Instead, he called Lucy.

“There’s something I need to tell you,” he said.

“Say it,” Lucy replied. She clearly hadn’t slept well.

“Pamela isn’t the one who saved John. She’s a fake.” Kenneth was having a terrible headache right now. After chasing this for so long, he had never imagined that this would be the outcome.

Lucy did not sound surprised at all. “That sounds about right.”

Kenneth was stunned.

“I warned you two back then,” Lucy said lazily. “Neither of you took it seriously.”

“Should I tell John?” Kenneth asked as he hesitated. His feelings were a complete mess. “He still doesn’t know.”

Lucy turned on her computer, completely indifferent. “Why not? Let him see how stupid it was to lose his wife over a fake.”

“We still don’t know whose identity Pamela stole,” Kenneth said. That was what really worried him. “What if the real one shows up the moment we expose her?”

“That’s his problem, not yours,” Lucy said as she started a game, sounding relaxed and unbothered. “If this still isn’t enough to teach him a lesson, then stop worrying about him in the future.”

“Lucy,” Kenneth said. He felt she was being a little too rational.

“I’m done. My game’s starting,” Lucy said, then hung up without a second’s hesitation.

Kenneth was left staring at his phone. The information he managed to dig up was the kind of information no one wanted to deliver to John.

After going over it again and again, he went to look for Nicholas.

Nicholas’s people did not stop him, which meant Nicholas had allowed him through. If Nicholas had allowed him through, that probably meant Nicholas knew more than he did.

When Nicholas saw Kenneth come in, he was not surprised at all. He could not stop himself from asking, “What are you looking for your master for?”

For once, Kenneth didn’t argue with Nicholas. He sat on the couch and watched Nicholas packing a suitcase. “Are you heading

out?”

“Obviously,” Nicholas said, every word laced with annoyance. “A huge show is about to start. I have to be there in person, naturally.”

Nicholas looked at him with open disgust. “The show where your precious John dumps the real person who saved him for a fake one. You just came from the hospital, right? Didn’t Dr. Yates tell you anything?”

“His real savior…?” Kenneth repeated. He caught the key words at once.

Nicholas closed the suitcase in one smooth motion.

“I’m leaving. Get out,” he said, one hand pulling the suitcase, the other holding his phone.

“Explain yourself,” Kenneth demanded. He still had no idea Pamela’s scar had been copied from Sierra’s. “What do you mean, he dumped the real person who saved him because of a fake one? You know who his real savior is?”

“You really didn’t know?” Nicholas said. He actually stopped dead in his tracks.
