Lu Yin’s face turned completely pale. She didn’t dare to underestimate Bai Meiyue; after all, this woman killed someone right in front of her eyes and that too without even the slightest bit of hesitation.
Her eyes darted to the corpse and then at Bai Meiyue, whose clothes were covered in blood and she nodded fearfully.
Only then did Bai Meiyue move her foot away and squat down; she carefully examined Bai Jixaun and her brows furrowed when she realised that this fat man actually pulled such a move that broke three of her brother’s ribs.
Her eyes flashed with anger as she raised her dagger and stabbed it on the foot of the fat man. More blood gushed out but it was nowhere near enough to calm her anger.
She turned to look at Lu Yin, who bowed her head and huddled in a corner. Lu Yin was not a fool; she knew that there must be something wrong with Bai Jixuan and Bai Meiyue was blaming her for that. So, she immediately pursed her lips and turned quiet, no longer daring to make a fuss without her brother backing her.
She knew that if she dared to cause trouble, then Bai Meiyue would silence her and her brother right here.
Bai Meiyue also didn’t make a move on Lu Yin; she didn’t want to create powerful enemies from the start. Lu Yu would soon awaken into an earth-type supernatural and she didn’t want to deal with him for the moment.
However, once Xiao Cai was born, she would make Lu Yin pay double the interest of the sufferings that her brother had gone through and for now—
Her eyes flashed as she rowed the boat towards the shore.
"Brother!" Lu Yin climbed down the boat as soon as it approached the shore but before she could jump into the arms of her brother like a startled canary, someone caught hold of her wrist and turned her around.
SLAP!
The sound of a crisp slap echoed in the
Everyone turned to look at Bai Meiyue and Lu Yin in surprise.
However, Bai Meiyue didn’t care about their surprised gazes; she raised her hand and slapped Lu Yin once again.
Lu Yu, seeing this, stepped forward to stop her but he was pulled back by Lei Yan, who shook her head. She knew that Bai Meiyue was not an unreasonable woman; she wouldn’t beat Lu Yin for no reason. What was more, Bai Meiyue’s clothes were covered with blood, which meant that something happened on the boat.
"You—you slapped me?" Lu Yin was stunned. She had never been treated like this before; as Lu Yu’s sister, everyone gave her respect and even treated her like she was a princess. When had anyone slapped her on the face like this?
She threw the corpse in the water and no sooner did she hurl the corpse than the scent of blood lured one of the mutated rats that was hiding under the water.
The monster jumped up and caught hold of the corpse before pulling it down in the water with it.
"You saw that?" Bai Meiyue turned to look at Lu Yin, who was speechless with fear and patted her on the cheek. "The next time you drag my family into a mess, I will throw you in the monster-infested water to become their meal and your brother will not be able to stop me. Are we clear?"
Lu Yin nodded instinctively. Something about Bai Meiyue scared her and she didn’t dare to say anything against her.
Only then did Bai Meiyue smile but her smile didn’t reach her eyes. She raised her head and looked at Lu Yu before saying to him, "Your sister caused my brother to get injured and break three of his ribs because of her sheer stupidity. You better give me an explanation for this matter."
The hospitals were filled to the brim, and with the new virus flying in the air, there was no way Bai Meiyue could take her brother to the hospital. Thus, this injury could become quite troublesome if she didn’t find a way to deal with it.
Fortunately, there was a spiritual master who liked to throw in some talismans in the barter system every night. As long as she tapped on the notification quickly enough, maybe she might be able to find a talisman or potion that would help her brother in getting better.
