Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1629

Chapter 1629: Points

’He’s insane.’

Whisker stared at the carnage below with trembling eyes. His heart pounded violently in his chest, and he struggled to fully grasp the sheer magnitude of what he had just witnessed.

Atticus had just treated an army of Grand Sovereign gods as though they were insects being crushed beneath his heel. In his millennia of living, he had never witnessed anything remotely close to this.

’How is that even possible?’

To cancel the wills of other gods... such a thing should have been an impossibility of the highest order. Whisker had always regarded his aspect as overpowered, but could he even classify the... thing Atticus possessed as merely overpowered? It was catastrophic.

’He’s not the same.’

No matter how much he tried, Whisker couldn’t reconcile the Atticus of now with the one from before.

Atticus had evolved to a stage where he stood on an entirely different plane. To think there was once a time he had been stronger than him. Now, if they were to fight seriously, without any godly amplification...

’I’d lose.’

A surge of exhilaration coursed through Whisker’s body. He was glad he had chosen to sneak around and observe Atticus. He would have missed such a breathtaking spectacle otherwise.

"When you’re done hiding, you can come out now."

"!!!"

’He knew. Of course he knew.’

He would have been a fool to think he could deceive a god within his own world. Whisker let out a sharp screech as he swooped down and landed beside Atticus.

"Can you even be considered normal at this point?"

Whisker said in disbelief as he shifted back into his human form.

"You’ve been watching the whole time."

"Of course I was. How else was I supposed to see... all of this?"

Whisker glanced at the overwhelming devastation surrounding them. They were standing in a literal sea of mutilated corpses.

Yet the one responsible remained utterly unfazed as he dismissed his exo-suit and fixed Whisker with a mildly disapproving gaze.

"What about the others?"

"Relax. They’re fine. Check if you want. Ever since we became gods, this kind of thing’s been easy."

Atticus’ eyes turned distant for a brief moment, indicating he was checking. A moment later, clarity returned to them.

"We still can’t lower our guard. We don’t know what’s coming next."

"Sheesh. If you’re still this guarded with that kind of power, what hope do the rest of us have?"

Whisker muttered that Atticus seriously needed to learn how to relax, but frowned when he noticed Atticus staring intently at the exposed pathway in the distance.

"There’s someone approaching."

"Wait... what?"

They vanished instantly, reappearing in the sky just above the pathway.

...

"Who are you?"

At the cold voice, the man clad in a white robe halted and lifted his gaze, only to see two figures hovering in the sky. His eyes brightened the instant they settled on Atticus.

"Atticus Ravenstein..."

"Answer the question."

Atticus frowned as he studied the man. He wasn’t dressed like a Will Guard from any major faction he recognized. But the fact that he had emerged from enemy territory kept him on edge.

"I am Go." The man lowered his head with measured respect.

"I was sent by Grand Elder Azeroth of the Evoli School. I’ve come to deliver a message."

"..."

"Hm?"

Realizing his slip, the man quickly inclined his head again.

"...You may know us as the Usurpers."

Boom!

His knees buckled as the crushing weight of Atticus’ aura descended upon him.

"Hurk!"

He clenched his teeth, his robes quickly dampened with sweat.

’What... what is he...?’

Go released his will, struggling to withstand the pressure, but all he managed was to lift his head slightly. Was it because this was Atticus’ world?

’No.’

A chill crept down Go’s spine as his eyes met Atticus’ ocean-blue gaze. They were the eyes of a predator.

’He truly defeated them.’

His mission had been to observe how the coordinated assault on Atticus would unfold. Go had envisioned countless outcomes, but never had he imagined it ending in absolute slaughter.

"What do you want?"

"...As I said, I’m here to deliver a message."

"Then deliver it."

"Grand Elder Azeron invites you to our domain. He wishes to meet you personally."

"...."

"I—"

"I’m not interested."

"...I see."

Go nodded, as though it was expected.

"In that case, I was told to show you this."

He raised his arm, and a large golden sword manifested in his grasp.

Atticus’ eyes narrowed the moment his gaze fell upon the insignia engraved at the hilt.

"And I was also instructed to pass this along. He’s alive."

Whoosh.

The sword vanished from Go’s hand and appeared instantly in Atticus’.

"..."

Go’s brows furrowed slightly, but he remained silent as Atticus examined the blade.

’I should leave.’

The last thing he desired was to remain in the presence of this monster any longer than necessary.

"If you ever reconsider, this token will guide you to our domain. It will activate once you reach the summit."

He conjured a wooden token and let it hover before Atticus.

"I’ll take my leave."
