Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1835

Charles didn’t want to delay anything. Since the meeting with Philip was already arranged, dragging it out would only waste time.

Rather than hesitating, it made more sense to move quickly and settle the matter.

If they stalled and Philip changed his mind, what then?

After all, they were the ones accommodating the Carter family’s schedule, so that schedule mattered most. Once agreed upon, it was best not to change it lightly.

With that in mind, Charles reminded them again, “Since we’ve decided to go back, let’s not waste any time. Just like our daughter said, we should head out in the next day or two.”

“Alright, but I still have a few things to take care of,” Yvonne said suddenly.

Both Michelle and Charles froze.

“What else do you need to arrange?” Michelle couldn’t help asking.

After all, Yvonne was the one who suggested leaving early, yet now she seemed to be hesitating.

Yvonne didn’t explain it directly. She simply knew there was something she had to do.

Leaving him behind overseas without a word felt wrong.

“Don’t worry, Mom, Dad. I can handle this myself. You don’t need to fret over it.”

She didn’t spell it out, but she made it clear she would take care of everything. In her mind, she was already an adult.

If she couldn’t manage something this simple, then what had all those years of effort and upbringing been for?

Her parents spent years raising her so she could stand on her own. Now that the time had come, she believed she was fully capable.
