“We don’t really know either. We didn’t even know your grandfather was coming today.”
Diana looked genuinely innocent. “If I’d known, I wouldn’t have argued with the Song family.”
She had truly assumed that Philip wouldn’t show up.
Her father-in-law had always come and gone as he pleased, with plans of his own.
As someone from the younger generation, she never felt the need to inquire about such things.
Besides, Philip was both decisive and capable.
He didn’t need the younger generation worrying over him.
Thinking that way only made Diana feel more wronged.
Still, marrying into this family had actually made life easier.
She didn’t need to deal with endless trivial matters, just manage her own corner of things.
On top of that, Lucas truly didn’t require much concern.
That realization made her sigh inwardly.
Edward rested his hand over Diana’s and nodded. “Exactly. How would we, as juniors, interfere with the elders’ affairs?”
Hearing that, Aurora could only nod helplessly.
She followed up calmly, “It’s fine, Mom, Dad. I was just curious. If you don’t know, that’s all right.”
Lucas nodded as well.
“Oh, right. There’s something we should tell you.”
At those words, Aurora straightened slightly.
She knew Lucas was about to tell his parents about the pregnancy.
A quiet excitement stirred in her chest.
Since becoming pregnant, she hadn’t really had anyone to share this joy with, only Lucas knew.
At times, that solitude left her feeling oddly empty.
But now it was different.
Lucas was finally going to tell their parents.
At that thought, Aurora couldn’t help growing a little excited.
Some things were better left to happen naturally.
Why fixate on outcomes?
As long as the children wanted it, they would support them at any time.
Aurora met Diana’s excited gaze and nodded slowly.
“Yes, Mom. It’s true.”
“That’s wonderful!”
Diana clapped her hands in excitement.
“I can’t believe I get to hold a grandchild so soon.”
“How many months is it?”
She looked at Aurora with delight.
Aurora thought for a moment. “Not very long yet. About one or two months.”
Lucas spoke up seriously from the side. “Mom, don’t get too excited. Let’s keep this quiet for now.”
