Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 586

Daniel sounded confident enough, but Harris couldn't shake the feeling that he was keeping something from him. Still, if Daniel didn't want to share, Harris wasn't about to push.

The party was already in full swing when more guests showed up at the entrance.

A staff member escorted them into the main area and quietly informed Amanda, "Mrs. Stewart, you have more guests."

Amanda had been in the middle of a toast when she heard this. She turned to look and immediately noticed a young woman—strikingly beautiful, with a soft and gentle presence. But Amanda didn't recognize her.

The woman was Sabrina.

Vincent happened to be seated facing the entrance. When he heard the commotion, his gaze lifted instinctively. The second he realized it was Sabrina, he went completely still.

Luke and Daniel noticed her too. Unlike Vincent, who looked caught off guard, their expressions shifted to something closer to concern.

Amanda studied Sabrina for a moment, clearly not placing her.

Before she could ask anything, Sabrina stepped forward and offered a wrapped gift. "Happy birthday. I picked this out for you. I hope you like it."

Her smile was warm, her manner polite and unassuming—respectful without being pushy.

Amanda was used to being fussed over. She accepted the gift with a practiced smile. "How thoughtful. Thank you."

She took the box, then let her curiosity show. "Remind me—whose daughter are you?"

Sabrina's gaze swept across the room before landing on Vincent. She held his eyes for a long moment, then turned back to Amanda. "I'm Vincent's—"

Vincent stood abruptly, cutting her off as he crossed over to them. "Mom, she's a friend of mine."

His voice was measured, calm—but loud enough for the nearby tables to hear.

Amanda glanced at him, puzzled.

She'd heard whispers that Vincent was seeing someone. She'd never bothered to look into it. As long as it stayed quiet and the woman didn't cause a scene, she didn't interfere.

Now, though, it was obvious. This was her.

It took Amanda only a few seconds to piece it together.

But she didn't react. Her expression stayed smooth, composed. She smiled at Vincent and said lightly, "Well then, take good care of your friend."

Sabrina had heard it too. Friend. That was what he'd called her.
