Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 605

After a few moments of silence, Sabrina spoke again, pressing him gently. "Why did you suddenly decide to go after Damian?"

Daniel didn't feel like explaining. "It's nothing."

Seeing he wasn't willing to open up, Sabrina let out a quiet sigh and said, "Daniel, you and Vincent have been close for a long time. If you need anything, just tell me, and I'll make sure he knows."

She was standing right there in front of him, and yet every word out of her mouth was about Vincent. Daniel's mood soured even further.

He lifted his head and looked at her, his gaze sharp and searching. "You really think Vincent's that great? Like no one else even comes close?"

Sabrina could tell he was annoyed. She answered simply, "I only know that one day, he's going to be my husband."

That only made things worse. Daniel's jaw tightened. "Sabrina, how much longer are you going to keep lying to yourself? He keeps saying he'll marry you, but has he actually done it? Until he puts a ring on your finger, don't get so ahead of yourself."

His words hit her like needles—sharp, precise, and cruel. She stared at him, caught between anger and hurt. "Daniel, you..."

He knew he'd gone too far, but he wasn't about to apologize. He looked away instead, refusing to meet her eyes.

A long moment passed before he finally spoke again. "You should go. I don't want to see you right now."

Sabrina wanted to say something else, but the rejection in his voice stopped her. She sighed. "If something really happens, call me. Since you don't want me here, I'll head back."

With that, she turned and walked downstairs.

Daniel listened to her footsteps fading, then quickly turned to watch her go.

That graceful figure—it was never going to be his.

The thought twisted inside him, but there was nothing he could do about it.

After leaving Lennox Manor, Sabrina headed to campus.

She had afternoon classes, and by the time she got back to Ravenshade Villa, it was almost five.

When she walked in, she found Lily busy in the kitchen, but Vincent was nowhere in sight.

Sabrina stepped into the kitchen doorway.

"Lily, what are you making?"

Lily had never been particularly warm toward Sabrina. "Cooking dinner. For Mrs. Stewart."

She made sure to emphasize "Mrs. Stewart", her tone carrying a pointed edge.

Sabrina caught the sarcasm but forced a small smile anyway. "Have you seen Vincent? Do you know where he went?"

Lily didn't look up from the stove. "Mr. Stewart doesn't exactly check in with the help about his schedule."
