She shook her head and said to Vincent, "Vincent, I'm not like you. I never learned how to tear someone down."
Vincent glanced at the red bills scattered across the floor and let out a hollow laugh. "So what's this supposed to be?"
Scarlett answered flatly, "It's compensation. For you."
A trace of a sardonic smile flickered across Vincent's lips, and the contempt in his eyes deepened. He didn't say another word, didn't even glance at the money on the floor again. He simply turned and walked out of the courtroom.
Just as he reached the doorway, Damian was walking in from outside.
They came face to face. Neither moved aside. For a long moment, they just stood there in silence, a quiet tension hanging between them—unspoken, but unmistakable.
Felix noticed the standoff and chose that moment to step forward. "Mr. Stewart, if you've got a minute, I'd love a word."
Without even looking up, Vincent declined. "Not interested."
Felix extended his business card anyway. "Mr. Stewart, here's my card. If you ever run into any legal issues—outside of anything tied to Zachary, Damian, or the Theron family—feel free to reach out. I'm top-tier in my field, don't overcharge, and I specialize in financial litigation."
With that, Felix slipped the card into Vincent's hand.
Then, with deliberate emphasis, he added, "I have a feeling you'll find a use for me someday, Mr. Stewart."
Vincent flicked the card away without a second thought. "Get lost. Take your garbage with you."
Felix offered a faint smile and said nothing more.
Meanwhile, Damian took the opportunity to enter the courtroom. He walked straight toward Scarlett without hesitation.
When he reached her, he casually draped his jacket over her shoulders.
Vincent, who had half-turned to brush off Felix, caught sight of the gesture. His gaze sharpened—cold, cutting, dangerous.
But Scarlett, standing beside Damian, didn't pull away or create any distance.
They looked like a married couple.
Vincent let out a quiet, bitter laugh. After one sweeping glance in their direction, he turned and walked out, his demeanor cold and untouchable.
As Vincent disappeared through the door, Felix couldn't resist one last remark. "Mr. Stewart—don't forget, financial cases are my specialty."
After Vincent left, the tension in the courtroom eased.
Nathan, who hadn't shaved in two days, had dark stubble around his jaw. His eyes were red-rimmed and swollen, clear signs of sleep deprivation.
After thanking Felix, Damian walked him out.
Once Felix was gone, Damian returned to escort Scarlett and the Therons.
