Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 727

Damian sensed her fear and quickened his pace.

Just as they were about to step out of the private dining area, Vincent's voice dropped low behind them. "Damian... do you realize what you're doing?"

Without turning, Damian replied steadily, "I'm taking back the woman who has always been mine."

Vincent let out a sharp laugh. "Think this through. If you walk out with her today, you're declaring war on me."

Damian couldn't hold back a cold smirk. "Vincent, do you honestly believe the rivalry between our families these past few years was about anything else? We were never on the same side. I'm just bringing what was simmering beneath the surface out into the open. This war didn't start today—it was always there."

With that, he swept Scarlett into his arms and strode out.

Vincent remained in the room, motionless for a long moment. Then, in a sudden burst of rage, he swiped his arm across the table, sending plates and glasses crashing to the floor. He followed with a hard kick to a nearby chair, his expression dark and dangerous.

A server rushed in at the noise, eyes widening at the mess. "Sir... I'm afraid you'll have to cover the damages."

Vincent shot him an icy glare. "Get out."

He didn't linger, brushing past the startled server and into the hall. The young man hesitated but didn't dare stop him.

Outside the restaurant, the cold night air hit Vincent's face. He scanned the snowy street—no sign of Scarlett or Damian. The chill cleared his head just enough. Pulling out his phone, he dialed Abbott.

Abbott answered on the first ring. "Mr. Stewart."

Vincent's voice came out rough. "Put the word out. From now on, no one from our side—no associates, no company—works with Violet or Nathan. Not a single contract, not a meeting."

He paused, then added coldly, "And pull all investment from Thomas. Every cent."

Abbott sounded uncertain but didn't question. "Understood."

Once outside, Damian had planned to drive straight home. But as he carried her, Scarlett stirred against his chest and murmured, "Damian... let's walk for a while."

Though worried about her, he softened. "Alright."

It was hard to navigate the snowy sidewalk while holding her, so he gently set her down. Crouching in front of her, he said, "Hop on. I'll give you a ride."

Scarlett looked at his broad shoulders, her heart tightening for a second, before she carefully climbed onto his back.

Damian hooked his arms under her legs and stood slowly. Tilting his head toward her, he said, "Hold on tight, sweetheart."

Scarlett wrapped her arms a little closer around his neck.
