After putting everything down, Vincent looked directly at Maria and got straight to the point. "Maria, I want you and Jacob to move to Rivergate with me."
Maria still had no idea anything had happened to Sabrina. In her mind, Vincent showing up like this meant the things she'd said to Sabrina before had finally worked.
Even though she was secretly thrilled, she still kept her composure. "Vincent, if we move there, we'd only be inconveniencing you. We are doing just fine here."
Something about those words made Vincent's chest tighten unexpectedly. He looked at her seriously and said, "Maria, I'm family too. You can think of me as your son. There's no such thing as inconveniencing me."
Maria paused in surprise before asking carefully, "You really want us there?"
Vincent nodded without hesitation. "Of course. We're family now anyway. Come back to Rivergate with me. It'll be easier for Sabrina and me to look after both of you that way."
Since Vincent had already said it so sincerely, Maria didn't continue refusing. After a brief pause, she finally nodded. "Alright then. I'll go."
The moment she agreed, Vincent immediately added, "And Jacob should come too."
Maria hesitated. "Jacob's only recently recovered. Traveling probably isn't the best idea right now, so maybe..."
Before she could finish, Vincent quietly interrupted her. "Do you really want Sabrina worrying about you from hours away?"
Maria was instantly speechless.
After a moment, she finally sighed in surrender. "Alright... we'll come."
A genuine smile finally spread across Vincent's face. "Good. Then Sabrina, Caleb, and everyone else can help take care of you both from now on."
Maria only smiled faintly without saying anything more.
Seeing that, Vincent quickly added, "Once we get back, I'll probably need you and Jacob to meet my family with Sabrina."
That was the moment Maria's heart truly started racing.
Even though she was overwhelmed with excitement inside, none of it showed on her face. She only answered calmly, "Okay. I understand."
After convincing Maria, Vincent headed back to the hospital.
By the time he returned to Sabrina's room, she was already awake. Not seeing him there earlier had clearly left her anxious and unsettled.
The second Vincent stepped through the door, Sabrina immediately climbed out of bed and rushed into his arms. Wrapping herself tightly around him, she choked out tearfully, "Vincent, I thought you left me again."
Vincent rested his hand against her back and gently comforted her before quietly saying, "Sabrina, let's get married."
For a moment, Sabrina honestly thought she'd imagined hearing it.
She stared at him blankly without responding.
Seeing her frozen in place, Vincent lowered his head slightly and asked, "What? You don't want to?"
Sabrina looked at him in disbelief. "Are you serious?"
