Relief washed over Scarlett when she heard Damian's voice outside, yet her face burned bright red all the same. "The zipper's on my back. I can't reach it. Could you ask the clerk to help me?"

The saleswoman outside heard her request and was just about to agree, but Damian beat her to it. He tugged the curtain open a crack and slipped straight inside.

The clerk stood frozen for a moment, then stepped back discreetly. After all, he was Scarlett's husband. It was only natural for him to help her.

Scarlett had her back to the entrance. Not realizing who had come in, she lowered her hands from behind her back and murmured, "Thank you." She'd assumed it was the staff.

Damian stepped closer. His warm fingers brushed her skin as he slowly pulled the zipper all the way down her spine, leaving her entire back exposed to his gaze. Heat flared intensely through his body the second his eyes took her in.

"Thank you," Scarlett said again. She then bent to slip out of the gown.

When she finished and turned around to grab her own clothes, she froze. Damian was still standing right behind her. She wore nothing but her undergarments now, completely uncovered otherwise.

Scarlett instinctively wrapped her arms around herself and stepped backward. Her retreat ended at the wall, but before she could press against it, Damian pulled her firmly into his embrace. His long arms held her effortlessly against his chest.

He had taken off his puffer jacket earlier inside the mall because of the warmth, leaving him in just a thin casual shirt. Their bodies pressed tight together, and Scarlett's body heat seeped through the light fabric, sinking deep into his bones. It spread across every inch of his skin, making him burn hotter by the second.

Scarlett squirmed in his hold, but her feeble movements only fanned the flames of his desire. He felt as if he might burn up on the spot.
