Locking eyes with Scarlett, Damian demanded, "You step upstairs and come back a different person—tell me, did Claire say something to you?"

Shaking her head again, she replied, "I didn't go upstairs—I went to Oakland Villa."

Hearing her answer, Damian's heart thudded in shock, "What's that supposed to mean?"

Sniffling to suppress the dull ache in her chest, Scarlett confessed, "I've decided to go back and make things work with Vincent."
