Qi Xiaoqi’s event was quite lively. He’s good-looking and well-behaved, and today he’s particularly charming, smiling at everyone he meets. All the uncles and aunts can’t stop calling him a treasure, and when he got to Cheng Yaozu’s table, Cheng Yaozu started to compete with Ning Ge over the child.
Their ’competition’ wasn’t any regular competition; it was about which family’s daughter Qi Xiaoqi would eventually marry.
"You want to compete with me? My wife is already pregnant, ready to give birth any time. And you? You don’t even have a girlfriend, let alone a wife. How can you compete with me?" Cheng Yaozu said smugly, glancing at Ning Ge.
Ning Ge replied, "Don’t be so smug. I might still beat you to it. Besides, he’s my godson!"
"Then there’s nothing more to say. Your godson and your daughter, isn’t that a mess..." Cheng Yaozu chuckled.
"The pot calling the kettle black. You’re still Qi Xiaoqi’s fourth uncle!" Ning Ge countered calmly.
Cheng Yaozu was taken aback and was at a loss for words.
Everyone burst into laughter.
"You guys should give it a rest. How old is the kid? My son is only a month old, and neither of you even has a shadow of a child to boast about!" Cheng Su said with a smile.
Qi Taiguo added, "Whoever’s daughter turns out to be as good as my wife, that’s the one I’ll set up with my son."
Ah, so it’s about having a son and then finding a daughter-in-law like my wife.
Cheng Su rolled her eyes; this guy is acting drunk without even drinking.
After the event, Qi Xiaoqi received quite a few red envelopes. Though these guests weren’t all wealthy, the amount was still quite substantial. And Cheng Su herself wasn’t one to covet those red envelope payouts.
