Qi Taiguo was dumbfounded after hearing Cheng Su’s words, looking as if he’d been struck by lightning.
"Xiao Qi really cried as soon as she went near her?" Qi Taiguo asked with a frown.
Cheng Su nodded, seeing his face didn’t look good, she said, "Maybe the child smells the ointment on Mom’s leg and doesn’t want her to hold him?"
This explanation was much better than the child seeing something dirty on Mother Qi, because that would be too absurd and creepy to hear.
Qi Taiguo was a soldier, full of vitality and fierceness, but even he couldn’t help picturing some terrifying thing following his mom, hence why the child cried at the sight!
However, after a moment, he brushed off that thought; it wasn’t scientific!
"I also think that’s probably the case." Qi Taiguo laughed awkwardly, though the laughter seemed forced.
After seeing off the guests, Old Master Cheng was tired after a busy day, so Cheng Su took him back to the guest room at the guesthouse to rest, while her family stayed home drinking tea and chatting.
"Today is the twelfth, and the Mid-Autumn Festival is in a few days. Since both families are here, why not celebrate in Qing City before going back? It would be lively." Qi Taiguo suggested.
"That’s good, there are only Cheng Zhi and me at home, we are few anyway." Father Cheng was the first to respond, thinking that without his wife at home taking care of their daughter and grandson, the holiday atmosphere felt diminished.
Father Qi also wanted to spend a few more days with his grandson. Although the child was still young and couldn’t speak yet, just watching him made him feel content and delighted; after all, he was his first grandson.
"What do you think?" he asked Mother Qi.
Mother Qi glanced at the child in Qi Fengping’s arms from a distance and said, "Let’s go back after the holiday then."
