Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 184

Chapter 184 Jealousy

It didn’t budge an inch. It just waited outside.

[Useless! You’re a complete loser! What are you afraid of? He just looked at you and you folded? Go!)

[Hey, don’t stir things up. If it were you, you wouldn’t dare go either.]

[I know I wouldn’t, but that’s not me. I want to see my teacher and Layla kiss. Hurry up.]

[Fine, if you can’t get inside, at least get closer. Let us hear something at least.]

The Vanguard might not have dared to offend Shane, but it was willing, within limits, to oblige the viewers demands. Like right now, it sidled up to the door.

The Vanguard’s belly panels and two of its claws clung desperately to the doorframe. The camera could only angle up at the ceiling rafters.

There was truly no proper way to film this. Yet, miraculously, both the staff controlling the Vanguard and the audience in the live stream were entirely satisfied.

[Audio pickup is still garbage. Can’t you get some better equipment?]

[I can’t hear clearly. Just faint, muffled sounds. I can’t tell if they’re talking or kissing.]

[I can’t hear either! Is that kissing? Is it? Is it?]

[Probably not. Sounds like they’re just talking.]

[Is Prof. Slater incapable or what? It’s a great opportunity. He’s got two and he won’t use even one? That thing’s endured so much with him.]

[Spread the word, Prof. Slater is incapable.]

[What? Prof. Slater is incapable?]

[What? Prof. Slater is incapable?]

Shane, whose capabilities were currently being slandered across the live chat, had Layla pressed against the wall. His face was buried in the crook of her neck, and he was whining his grievances.

“You were going to let Liam stay, weren’t you?”

“I wasn’t.”

“Don’t try to lie to me. I saw it. You wanted him to stay. When he said he’d stay in the treehouse, your heart softened.”

“I really didn’t.”

“You’re still saying that. Do you like him now? You liked him best before.”

Before the show, when Layla had been trying to reclaim everything that was hers, she’d fawned over all

those males plenty. She’d sent him gifts, too.

The things Layla had access to back then weren’t exactly high-quality.

But even so, the gifts she’d prepared for Liam had always been more thoughtful than the ones she gave in the other males.

And unfortunately, Shane had fallen squarely into the category of “other males.”

Damn it! Why? What does Liam have that I don’t?

In looks, he was more ruggedly handsome than Liam.

In height, he was six feet three, a full inch taller than Liam’s six feet two.

In academics, he was a university professor. Liam had graduated from a military academy with a bachelor’s degree.

In status, he was a tenured professor at Crownpeak University. Liam was nothing but a fallen noble, a logistics general stuck babysitting a supply unit.

How can I possibly lose to Liam?

Layla hadn’t expected that Shane would even blame her for the original Layla’s doing.

“That wasn’t…”

She wanted to deny it, but the words failed her. No one would believe her.

“You even made pastries for me before. Why don’t you make them anymore?”

Layla just didn’t know how!

Those pastries the original Layla had made.

The food Layla knew how to cook, she’d learned all of it in the modern world.

For pastries, she had some theoretical knowledge of. In college, she’d watched plenty of videos. She more or less knew the methods.

But making pastries was like doing crafts.

She thought she knew how to do it, but as soon as she tried, she couldn’t pull it off.

She’d grown up in a rural village, raised by her grandparents. She’d been the first person in her village to get into college.

Back in university, she’d actually dreamed that after graduation, once she had a job, she’d buy a little loft apartment, do a beautiful kitchen renovation, get an oven, and spend her free time baking, maybe make some mulled wine to treat herself.

Reality had turned out to be brutally different.

Less than a month after graduation, the apocalypse began.
