She knew full well that her feelings for George had long since gone beyond mere friendship.

Shane didn’t look surprised at her words. “I’ve known for a long time.”

“I said, I already knew you liked George and Liam.”

“Your expression changed when you talked about them.” Shane held her hand. “I’ve seen the faces you made when you mentioned them before. At first, talking about George and Liam only brought disgust. Then it became neutral. By now, when you talk about Liam, the corner of your mouth lifts. And when you bring up George, your expression turns a little bitter.

“Layla, I don’t like that expression on you. That kind of bitterness doesn’t belong on this face. My Layla should always be happy.”

“Then what about you?” Layla grabbed his collar. “If I’m happy, what about you? Will you be happy? I promised you, you’re the only mate I want. After the show, we’d get married. What is this now?”

“This is me wanting to grant them their wish.” Shane swung her hands gently. “They both really like you. Their feelings for you are no less than mine.
