Chapter 232 Night of the Predator
With that thought, he pressed the red button on the screen decisively.
The space in front of him, which had seemed empty, suddenly distorted for a moment, and then the barrier shattered like broken glass.
Deep in the Quetzalcoatlus nest, the largest one slowly opened its eyes.
Its keen pupils glittered with excitement.
It had been a long time since it had smelled so many people.
It let out a long cry, and all the Quetzalcoatlus in the nest began beating their wings in response.
Layla packed up the cookware and other things and yawned.
As she stretched, she caught a figure out of the corner of her eye. It was Stella!
Why is Stella over here?
Layla frowned. Is she looking for trouble again?
Nearby, George snorted and muttered, “Sneaking around like that, she’s clearly up to no good.”
He reached Stella before Layla did, his clear voice cutting through the air. “What are you doing?”
Stella flinched, her body stiffening.
She turned, her eyes darting away, and when she saw it was George, she forced a smile. “I’d like to try some of the food you made.”
George silently rolled his eyes.
Stella had been pretending to be a pure, innocent girl, and now she actually wanted to eat the delicious meat Layla made.
Dream on!
George planted his hands on his hips and stared at Stella, his tone warning. “You think, given our relationship, we’d give you food? Don’t even think about poisoning it and blaming Layla.”
Stella bit her lip hard, her eyes turning red, looking completely wronged.
“If you won’t give it to me, why are you slandering me?”
With that, she wiped her tears and hurried away.
However, as she covered her face, a sinister smile curled at the corners of her mouth.
The trap was set. She was eager to see Layla squirm.
Watching Stella run off crying, George frowned in displeasure.

Layla leaned in, asking. “What’s wrong?”
George puffed out his chest, seeking praise. “She was trying to frame you, but I chased her away
Seeing his expression that begged for approval, Layla smiled and patted his shoulder. “Good jeh.”
If George had had a tail, it would have been wagging.
Liam, nearby, observed and walked over, clearly jealous. He snorted, “No wonder you ran so fast. I though you were just rushing to Stella.”
George’s eyes widened. “Don’t you try to drive a wedge between Layla and me!”
They were about to start arguing when Layla clamped a hand over each of their mouths.
Looking at the darkening sky, she said, “If you two keep arguing, take it outside before coming back in.”
With that, Layla turned and went inside.
George and Liam exchanged glances as Layla left.
George said resentfully, “This is your fault. You made Layla scold me.”
Liam rolled his eyes, uninterested in arguing, and followed Layla, saying, “Layla, wait for me.”
Inside the tent, George and Liam nearly started fighting again over who would sleep next to Layla.
Layla sighed and dug a finger in her ear.
With these two around, her days wouldn’t be boring.
She hadn’t realized how loud Liam could be.
Layla closed her eyes and felt a pair of cool hands massaging her temples.
Opening her eyes, she saw Shane looking at her tenderly.
“It’s noisy, but kind of fun, isn’t it?”
Layla looked at Shane in surprise.
She knew Shane would tolerate anything for her, but she hadn’t expected him to speak up for Liam and George.
Shane’s words finally calmed the two down.
Their squabbling was also their way of accepting that Shane would sleep next to Layla.
Liam quietly turned his head and stood up.
“Fine. Your turn tonight. I’ll take watch.”
As an admiral, Liam remained vigilant.
