Chapter 251 Alliance
Gratitude shone plainly in the newcomer’s eyes, with not a hint of malice directed toward Layla
Taking the initiative to bridge the gap, Layla offered a warm proposal. “I could help you build your own campsite soon. We’ll finish setting up our base first, and you’re welcome to stay with us for the next couple of days.”
Daisy’s golden eyes lit up instantly at the invitation, brimming with unbridled joy.
“Really? Won’t I be mooching off you all, though?”
Layla weighed the thought silently. Daisy’s agile prowess would surely be a huge asset to their group.
This was no one-sided favor-it was a mutually beneficial arrangement.
“Mooching? That’s such an awkward way to put it.” Layla chuckled. “You’re a cheetah, the fastest among all of us. We’ll definitely need your help with plenty of tasks later on.”
Eager to prove her worth the second she heard she could contribute, Daisy rolled up her sleeves to flex her arms-even though there was barely any muscle definition to show.
Undeterred, she beamed with confidence. “Don’t worry! I’m way more capable than I look. I’ll pull my full weight for sure.”
A soft laugh escaped Layla as she reached out to ruffle Daisy’s short, fluffy bob.
The soft texture of her hair was too inviting to resist a couple of extra gentle tugs.
A sudden prickle at the back of her neck made Layla pause. Three pairs of mournful, jealous stares were fixed squarely on her.
The corner of her mouth twitched in amusement as she turned around, feigning confusion. “You three aren’t seriously jealous over me patting her hair, are you?”
George let out a haughty huff, running a hand smugly through his own hair. “Her hair can’t possibly feel half as nice as mine.”
Even Liam edged closer to her side, tone laced with playful grievance. “You said my fur was the softest to touch just the other day.”
Off to the side, Shane fell into quiet contemplation. Without any fur of his own, he found himself at a disadvantage.
Layla clearly had a fondness for furry companions, regardless of gender.
Should I try growing fur on my true form?
The thought crossed his mind, only to be dismissed instantly.
The idea felt far too strange and unnatural.
Better to let Layla learn to appreciate the unique charm of scales instead.

[This dynamic is so wholesome, exactly what I tune in for!]
[Layla’s such a kind soul. She’s not just helping Daisy out, she’s even offering to build her a camp too!
[Layla’s easily the most desirable Lady Lord in the whole galaxy. I’d give anything to have her as my partner.]
[Do you really stand a chance against General Hartwell and Professor Slater? Be real now ]
Before she even realized it, Layla had claimed the number one spot on the galactic ranking of most sought f after Lady Lord.
“I think that tall tree over there would make the perfect campsite.” Stella spoke up from a distance, pointing toward a towering ancient tree.
As a swan, flying up to the treetop would be effortless for her.
Yet she overlooked one critical detail: Carson and the others traveling with her had no ability to fly
Carson frowned up at the massive tree trunk, deep in thought.
A treetop camp would offer excellent shelter and a prime vantage point, but a glaring problem remained.
How would they haul heavy lumber all the way up?
There was no way to carry everything up by brute human strength alone.
Shaking his head slowly, Carson voiced his verdict in a low tone. “That spot won’t work for us.”
Stella hadn’t expected such a blunt rejection.
She pouted, looping her arm through his and speaking in a coaxing, childish whine. “Then where are we supposed to set up camp?”
“Underground,” Carson replied without hesitation.
Observing the planet’s ecosystem earlier had revealed a pattern: all local flora and fauna grew to enormous
sizes.
Such massive vegetation meant sprawling, tangled root systems beneath the ground.
Most underground creatures would either burrow far deeper to survive or avoid these complex root networks entirely.
Digging a subterranean shelter was far more practical than cutting down giant trees for a treetop base.
Stella’s face fell into an immediate sulk at the suggestion. “Living underground sounds dreadful. It’s dark and cramped, like a bunch of bugs hiding away.”
