Chapter 266 Catch Some Fish
Tears streamed down Stella’s face like rain.
Collapsing over the cliff’s edge, she sobbed, her voice thick with grief.
“I never should’ve fought with Carson. This is all my fault. He must have been so heartbroken by our argument that…”
As Oliver watched Stella’s crocodile tears, a cold sneer escaped Oliver’s lips.
The sight ignited a fire in George’s chest.
He strode right up to her and demanded, “If you’re so torn up about it, why don’t you jump down and look for him?”

The cave Layla had found was incredibly hidden, allowing them to slip past the drones’ search entirely.
At the first light of dawn, Layla’s eyes fluttered open.
Carson was still deep in slumber.
He had been shouldering the burden of survival the entire time, even taking on night watch duty back at camp.
His nerves had been stretched tight for so long that this night was arguably the best sleep he’d gotten since the show began.
Watching him sleep so soundly, she couldn’t bring herself to wake him.
Trying to slip out of his arms quietly, Layla intended to check the river for breakfast.
But the moment she moved, Carson’s eyes snapped open.
One second, he was dead asleep; the next, he was wide awake, alert and cautious.
Yet, the moment he recognized Layla, his gaze softened.
“You’re up early. Couldn’t sleep?” he asked.
Layla shook her head with a smile. “No, I slept great. You’re like a furnace, actually. I woke up sweating.”
Carson smiled.
Seeing such a smile on a hardened man like him created such a stark contrast that Layla felt her heart give a little flutter.
She turned her head away, internally scolding herself.
Shane and the others are probably worried sick about me, and here I am ogling him. I shouldn’t be thinking like this.
Even so, she couldn’t help but steal another glance, only to find him staring right back.
Hetilted his head slightly. “Do I have something on my face?”
She shook her head, her expression serious. “I don’t think I realized just how handsome you are until now.”
It was the first time anyone had complimented his looks so directly.
Carson froze, his face flushing red.
Who knew a tough guy like him would be so easy to embarrass?
