Fluffy Mates Chase Their Boss on Survival Show

Chapter 309 Poisoning Master

“If you like it, I can make more,” Oliver offered with a hopeful smile.

Layla was horrified. She quickly grabbed his arm to stop him.

He really doesn’t understand sarcasm, does he?

George, observing from the side, caught on immediately. He crossed his arms and let out a derisive snort. “What Layla means is that only a true genius in the art of poison could make something so simple taste that

terrible.”

Oliver’s smile froze, replaced by a look of wounded pride as he glared at George. “Oh, like your cooking is any better? How about we have a contest, then?”

That was all the challenge George needed.

His competitive spirit ignited, he stood up, puffing out his chest. “You’re on!”

As the two men moved toward the kitchen, ready for their culinary duel, Layla swiftly stepped between them, blocking their path.

She looked from one to the other, her face completely deadpan. “Do you two think we have resources to burn?”

Confusion flickered across their faces, but the viewers exploded with laughter.

[LMAO, Layla’s saying they’d just be wasting supplies! This isn’t a contest; it’s vandalism.]

[Feels like the kid who got 2% on a test challenging the kid who got 5% to see who did better.]

[Translation: “I beg of you, General Hartwell and Mr. Fields worked their butts off hunting for that food. Don’t ruin it!”]

[Imagine if they actually did it. Tomorrow, the crew takes back the gear, and they’d be left with nothing but inedible garbage.]

With a firm grip on each of their arms, Layla marched them both back to their spots by the fire. “You two are staying right here. Your job is to watch what I’m grilling. Turn the skewers every five minutes and brush on more sauce. My sauce. Not Prince Oliver’s special concoction.”

Using Oliver’s sauce will probably make the contestants think this barbecue is a premeditated mass poisoning.

Layla shook her head at the thought.

Noticing Carson, Liam, and a few other men struggling to butcher the wild boar nearby, she hurried over. “You need to separate it at the joints. Don’t just hack through the bone, or the meat won’t cook right for roasting.”

The group nodded seriously, following her instructions without question.

Layla’s culinary skills were legendary among them by now.

Chapter 309 Poisoning Master

Fiona, watching the harmonious scene from a distance, smiled warmly. “It’s a good thing this show gets to continue.”

Beside her, Michael leaned his head on Fiona’s shoulder.

A shadow of something unreadable passed through his eyes. “The Grant family has been supporting it all along. And Layla’s brought in a ton of extra investment. Looks like we’ll be making a killing once this season wraps up.”

Fiona gave Michael’s head a contented pat.

Their moment was interrupted as Stella approached.

She glanced briefly at Michael before addressing Fiona, “Need a word. Let’s talk over there.”

Fiona’s brow furrowed.

I thought she wasn’t going to cause trouble this time?

Ciara promised, right to my face, that Stella would play nice and lay off targeting Layla. What’s this about?

Despite his misgivings, Fiona wasn’t about to antagonize the Grant family.

She gave Michael a look before following Stella to a secluded spot away from prying eyes and cameras.

“I don’t want to sleep in a tent. Figure something out.” Stella’s tone was as haughty and commanding as ever when she spoke to Fiona, as if issuing an order.

Fiona’s smile tightened, her eyes flickering with unease. “Ms. Grant, that’s the rule of the show. If you don’t want the tent, you’ll have to figure out your own alternative.”

When Layla had been ostracized into a tent, hadn’t she made the best of it?

Stella suddenly dumping this problem in her lap put Fiona in a bind.

A flat refusal would earn her Stella’s lasting resentment.

But giving her special treatment would destroy any semblance of fairness for the show.

The audience backlash would drown Fiona in a tidal wave of criticism.

Seeing Fiona’s hesitation, Stella grew impatient. “You’re the producer, aren’t you? You make the rules, don’t you?”

Fiona felt a surge of frustration she barely suppressed.

So she does know I’m the producer?

Running the show was supposed to be my call.

Now Stella was forcing her into a no-win situation. If she failed to solve Stella’s problem, she would earn the Grant family’s displeasure. She felt like crying.
