Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 308

Chapter 308 Helpful

Being so blatantly ignored made Stella’s face fall.

Layla observed the former best friends, now practically strangers-if not outright enemies-and found the dynamic fascinating.

The original story never explained why Emily and Stella had their falling out, sparking Layla’s curiosity.

Rebuffed, Stella retreated sullenly to the firepit. –

She jabbed at the glowing coals with a stick, venting her frustration as if the embers were Emily and Layla themselves.

A cold smile played on Layla’s lips before she turned to Emily. “You two used to be close.”

Emily looked away. “Some topics are better left in the past.”

Layla mimed zipping her lips shut, which drew a genuine laugh from Emily.

Her expression softened. “You’ve really come into your own. Congratulations. At least you’re not getting played by Stella anymore.”

The phrasing sounded like more than a simple compliment.

Was that a warning?

Layla glanced around.

The others were engrossed in their own conversations, paying them no mind.

She took Emily’s hand and led her to a quieter corner. “I’m not trying to pry, but your split was so sudden. Did you find out something?”

Emily shrugged, showing nonchalance. “Let’s just say I was naive and paid the price. Seeing you outmaneuver her… it’s satisfying.”

Her expression then turned serious.

She shot another look at Stella and leaned in closer. “The Grant family won’t let this go. Be careful.”

The genuine concern warmed Layla. “Thank you.”

“If things get bad and you need help, come to me. The Grants have deep roots. Even with five mates by your side, taking them on directly would be messy,” Emily added, her voice low.

Meeting Emily’s sincere gaze, Layla gave a firm nod. “Don’t worry. I won’t let her hurt me again.”

With a final reassuring pat, Emily rejoined her two males.

Layla’s gaze drifted back to Stella.

Her two escorts stood like silent sentinels, their postures tense whenever anyone approached.

Stella’s definitely planning something. This should be interesting.

Just then, George appeared, pulling Layla towards the sizzling grill. “Everything’s ready! Let’s start cooking.

He rolled up his sleeves, enthusiasm radiating from him.

Earlier, he and Liam had been huddled in a serious discussion.

Liam warned that Oliver was a master at playing the sympathy card.

They needed to step up their game and show Layla they were more useful than him.

Otherwise, once Oliver officially became a mate, his knack for playing cute and playing the victim might push everyone else to the sidelines,

The logic hit home for George.

Among the five, he often felt the least essential.

Sure, his water manipulation helped catch fish, but Layla’s survival skills were so robust she hardly needed the extra protein.

A sudden sense of urgency gripped him.

He resolved to be more proactive, learn more from her, and make sure Layla knew he was far more valuable than Oliver.

Noticing George’s unusual eagerness, Layla leaned close. “What’s with the sudden burst of helpfulness?”

George met her eyes, his own-beautiful and clear like polished glass-welling with faint grievance. “I’m always helpful.”

Layla laughed and ruffled his hair.
