Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 319

Chapter 319 New Task

Nods rippled through the group.

Seizing the moment, George couldn’t resist a jab at Oliver. “You stuck by that viper for so long and still came out breathing. Guess you’ve got nine lives, huh?”

A cold glare was Oliver’s only reply. “Your luck wasn’t so bad, either. As I recall, you were the one calling Layla desperate and shameless not too long ago.”

The old accusation flushed George’s cheeks scarlet.

He straightened his neck, voice rising to mask his guilt. “I was fooled by Stella back then! But I snapped out of it way before you did. You were still on her side just the other day!”

As the two looked ready to square off again, Layla exchanged a weary glance with Carson. They stepped in, each clapping a hand over one of the quarreling men’s mouths.

“Keep it down, will you? People are trying to sleep,” Layla hissed.

George let out a series of muffled protests, but Layla held firm.

He blinked his striking, glass-like eyes and finally gave a reluctant, pitiful nod.

Only then did she release him.

With a loud exhale, George shot Oliver one last glare before both men flanked Layla like sulking bookends.

She rubbed her temples.

Some pair they are. Life with these two is never going to be quiet.

Back in her room, Layla had barely settled onto the cot when George shuffled over.

His expression was all puppy-dog pleading.

“Let me crash here tonight, Layla. Please? The others aren’t around.”

Resigned, she lifted the edge of her blanket.

Instantly transforming, George bounded onto the bed, wrapped his arms around her, and nuzzled into her shoulder like an overexcited pup.

Layla mused with an inward sigh.

He’s more seal than merman.

Seals are, after all, known as the dogs of the sea.

Despite the clinginess, his presence was oddly comforting. She drifted into a deep, peaceful sleep.

Chapter 319 New Task

Her sleep ended abruptly the next morning to a blast of pounding music from outside.

Layla jolted upright, heart hammering.

Beside her, George startled awake, his beautiful eyes wide with fury.

He threw the covers off, ready to storm out and give someone a piece of his mind, but Layla caught his arm “Sounds like it’s coming from the production camp. Let’s check it out first.”

Stepping outside their cabin, they found Liam and Carson already there, wiping sweat from their brows.

The two smiled as Layla approached, “You guys wake up?”

With a yawn, Layla turned her gaze toward the source of the voice.

Carson said, gesturing toward the noise, “The crew’s wake-up call.”

Layla rolled her eyes. “What time is it, even?”

“They’ve got a task for us today,” Oliver said, joining them.

Layla rolled her eyes.

Since when does survival involve assigned chores?

She was starting to appreciate the gesture-a perfectly clean way to voice disdain.

Shane wandered over from the tree line. “I overheard them while I was walking. Today’s mission is to drive off some of the local beasts.”

“Drive them off? Why?” Layla’s brow furrowed.

Shane explained, “The hyenas are a real threat. Who knows what else might wander in? So the production group added this challenge. Whoever drives off the most beasts gets to pick five items from the supply stash.”

The reward was tempting, but the method rubbed Layla the wrong way.

They were here for a survival variety show, not to set up a permanent shop. Why disrupt the local ecosystem?

Seeing her frown, Shane guessed her thoughts. “Are we sitting this one out?”

Layla shook her head. “We’ll participate. But we’ll find a way to stop the others from wrecking the eco- balance.”
