Chapter 366 Stolen Results
As Stella saw the barely-contained turmoil in Julian’s eyes, her heart lurched.
She quickly stepped in front of him, trying to redirect Layla. “We’re all here for the same reason, You don’t have to be so aggressive.”
Layla simply smiled and looked toward the tent, where movement suggested the doctor was preparing to
emerge.
She dropped a casual remark. “Wonder if the guys I caught managed to tamper with anything before we grabbed them.”
The color drained from Stella’s face.
The report!
The fact that those people were caught by Layla proves they failed.
If we can’t steal Leonard’s test report, then what happened yesterday would be impossible to clarify.
Stella clenched her fists, her mind racing as she stared at Layla.
Suddenly, a sharp cry, followed by sounds of a scuffle, erupted from the tent.
Layla’s instincts fired. She spun and burst back inside.
The scene was chaotic. The doctor lay sprawled on the floor, a pool of blood spreading beneath him.
Leonard was gone. A large, ragged hole gaped in the rear canvas wall.
A diversion. He’s been taken!
Layla’s expression darkened into a storm. Her eyes snapped to the table.
The report was gone.
So was Leonard’s blood sample.
Even the testing equipment lay smashed, its vital data chips removed.
Professional. Thorough.
A chilling anger settled over her.
Stella hurried in after her. After she took in the missing prisoner and the cleaned table, a wave of relief and triumph washed over her.
Mom did it.
She feigned shock, gasping dramatically. “What happened? How could this… Layla, you said you caught everyone!”

Layla turned slowly, her cold stare piercing through Stella’s poorly hidden glee and defiance
With no other witnesses present, Stella didn’t bother to hide it fully.
Layla let out a cold snort, stepped up to Stella, and looked down at her from above. “It was your Grant family who did this, wasn’t it? This is far from over!”
She pushed past Stella and left the tent.
Carson and Liam came running at the commotion.
“Layla? What’s wrong?” Liam asked, seeing her stony face.
She quickly filled them in.
Liam made a move toward the tent, but Carson held him back. “They’re long gone. We need to think about our next move.”
The one solid piece of evidence, gone in an instant.
The speed of the operation nagged at Layla. From the noise to her entry-it was too fast.
She hadn’t sensed any presence.
A new possibility dawned on her.
She cast a final, gloomy look at the ravaged tent. “Let’s head back.”
Returning to their own area, they met Emily and Jacob.
Emily looked troubled.
She whispered to Layla, “We were warning the others when we saw someone dragging Leonard away. We gave chase but lost them in the woods.”
She had come straight to find Layla, though.
Layla’s grim face told her she already knew.
Layla gave a tight nod, her smile humorless. “We underestimated Stella.”
