Fluffy Mater these Their Boss on Survival Show
Chapter 411 They Will Regret
That cry sounded just like a dying woman wailing in agony.
The creature then pulled its body back outside the cave.
It shot Layla’s group one resentful glance before slowly drifting away.

Layla stared at the empty cave mouth, uncertainty in her voice. “Could it be lying in wait for us out there?”
Arnold shook his head with firm conviction. “It is not intelligent enough for that.”
“Alright then.” Layla relaxed.
Still, there was no good reason for them to step back outside right away.
Their original mission had been to locate Oliver and George.
Now that everyone had reunited, it was time to get down to serious business.
Layla turned toward Arnold and cut straight to the question. “Where is the energy field now?”
Arnold glanced at Oliver and hesitated several times before he spoke. “I do not know where the energy field is. Most likely it got lost somewhere out in these woods.”
Rage flared hot inside Oliver the second those words landed. “Are you out of your mind? You went through so much trouble to steal it from me, and now you’ve lost it?”
Arnold knew he was in the wrong. He said nothing, merely hung his head, his gaze dark and distant as if lost in thought.
After a long pause, Arnold finally spoke again. “Prince Oliver, did your brothers give you a hard time after I left?”
Oliver’s anger burned even brighter at the question. “They blamed the loss of the energy field entirely on me. What do you think?”
A bitter-relieved nod came from Arnold, “At least you still kept your life.”
Oliver almost laughed out of pure frustration. “What, are you disappointed?”
Arnold rubbed the tip of his nose. He seemed ready to say something, but he only let out a heavy sigh and fell silent.
Watching him sit there defeated, even Layla felt frustrated on his behalf.
She stepped forward, moved him aside, and stood directly in front of Oliver. “Everything Arnold did was almost certainly to protect you.”
Oliver’s eyes widened in shock. “Protect me? What he did nearly got me cast out of the royal family entirely.”

These
events counted as a royal-family scandal, so all records had been buried.
No outsiders knew the truth
But Oliver had lived through every bit of that pain, and he carried those wounds clearly.
Seeing the resentment and hatred burning in Oliver’s eyes, Layla sighed.
An old saying crossed her mind, out of place.
A parent who loves their child will plan far ahead for their future.
She gave Oliver’s shoulder a reassuring pat. “We have nothing else to do stuck in this cave. Why not calm down and hear what he has to say?”
A flicker of emotion flashed across Oliver’s face.
He turned his head away, plainly reluctant. “I’m only doing this for your sake, Layla.”
Layla could not hold back a soft laugh at his stubborn pride, and she gave his cheek a gentle pinch.
The five of them sat down in a loose circle.
Arnold began telling secrets Oliver had never known. “The energy field warps people’s minds. If you kept it near you for too long, it would have swallowed your whole identity.”
Oliver’s eyes widened in shock. “Why would my father hand something like that over for me to guard?”
Oliver had once felt honored to receive the energy field, believing it was proof of his father’s high regard for him.
Arnold fell quiet for a moment, sorrow plain in his eyes as he looked at Oliver.
Oliver’s lips trembled, and understanding dawned on him. “I was disposable, wasn’t I?”
The energy field was far too valuable to entrust to outsiders. It made sense to assign one of the king’s own sons to watch over it.
And since Oliver already held little favor within the royal family, sacrificing him cost them nothing.
