Chapter 446 Send Word Straight to Me

George caught Layla’s scent. A huge, involuntary smile spread across his face, and he barely felt his own injuries.

Layla looked up and saw him grinning foolishly. She reached out and tapped his head out of habit. She winced and pulled her hand back.

Fresh blood stained her forearm.

George panicked the second he spotted it. “Layla, you’re hurt. Let me take care of you right away.”

Shane stepped in to examine Carson’s wound in Layla’s place.

The sword had gone clean all the way through Carson’s arm, but luckily, it had missed the bone.

He applied healing medicine to the injury and gave his warning. “Keep that arm still from now on. It will heal much faster.”

A warm healing energy spread slowly through Carson’s wound, and his pain faded.

He nodded toward Shane. “Thanks.”

Liam carried multiple wounds across his body, yet they were only shallow scrapes, nothing serious.

Oliver let out dramatic cries. “My face! My perfect, flawless face!”

Everyone turned their eyes toward him out of curiosity.

A very thin scratch marked his finely-chiseled cheek, almost like a work of art marred.

George’s mouth twitched. “Wow, that’s one terrible scar. It would’ve healed completely if you’d waited a ittle longer.”

Oliver glared furiously at him.

Arnold hurried between the two to hold them apart. “This is no time to bicker. What if Ciara’s group comes back?”

Oliver huffed in annoyance and quickly tended to the small cut on his face.

Once everyone’s injuries had been mostly treated, Arnold spoke up. “I swear I’ve felt that exact energy ignature from the mystery man before.”

He furrowed his brows and searched through his memories. “I encountered someone back when I served within the royal family. His energy felt identical to that stranger’s.”

Oliver pressed for details. “Do you remember what he looked like? Who was he?”

Arnold shook his head regretfully. “He wore a cloak that covered his face back then, too. I never saw his

eatures or learned his identity. But the royal family treated him with great respect, so he must hold normous power.”

Shane adjusted his glasses, his expression turning grim. “If that mystery figure really is the same man you met, our situation gets far more complicated. The royal family has long researched the energy field. They even had a hand in creating the Berserker Serum. They might have struck some secret deal with this stranger. If that holds true, Ciara becomes an even bigger threat.”

Layla nodded. She sorted through all the new information and let out a long breath. “No matter what happens, we have to keep the energy field safe.”

Liam plopped down by the wormhole entrance and thought it over. “What if we take turns guarding both the Starcore Essence mine and this wormhole?”

Layla glanced into the wormhole and smiled faintly. “There is no need. We don’t have to stand watch in person anywhere.”

With those words, Layla walked straight into the wormhole.

Far more Carapax Beetles gathered near the entrance than usual.

Wormhole Queen clearly knew about the outside fight and had sent her guards to stand post.

Yet these guards seemed to recognize Layla. They sensed her aura and stepped aside to let her pass.

Layla reached Wormhole Queen without trouble.

Wormhole Queen regarded her, her tone soft and full of confusion. “What do you want?”

Layla said, “You already know what just happened out there. If those intruders get inside, neither you nor your people will survive.”

Wormhole Queen let out a quiet sigh. “That is why I am asking what you intend to do.”

Layla met Wormhole Queen’s gaze with unwavering resolve. “Send your subjects out to the positions I name. The moment anyone shows up, send word straight to me.”

She knew Wormhole Queen could not refuse this request.

If Layla’s group abandoned Planet A13, Wormhole Queen and her swarm would be the very first to suffer.

As expected, Wormhole Queen nodded.

She asked in confusion, “Is only sending you warnings all you require?”
