Chapter 481 Make Me Some Sunscreen

Those two huddled together were definitely up to no good.

Every now and then, they snuck glances at Marshie in Layla’s arms. There was no doubt they were plotting some scheme to win more of her affection.

Liam got a mischievous idea. He wanted to see exactly what kind of stunt the pair would pull.

Still, he trusted their characters. They were most likely just acting out of jealousy to draw Layla’s attention, and would never hurt Marshie.

If they crossed a line, Layla would send them packing the second she found out.

With that thought, Liam looked away and pretended he had not noticed their whispering. He turned his attention back to Layla and the little beast.

Marshie trusted Layla completely. It would barely let anyone else hold it.

The only exceptions were Shane, who had treated its injury, and Carson.

For some reason, Marshie loved sticking close to Carson. It always gazed up at him with a gentle, docile look-perhaps it was drawn to the natural aura of an alpha’wolf.

Layla laughed and turned toward Carson. “When I get busy later, could you keep an eye on Marshie for

me?”

Carson bent down and lifted Marshie up from where it had rubbed against his ankles.

His voice was soft and warm. “I raised plenty of wolf pups back when I led my pack. Taking care of it won’t be any trouble. You can rest easy, Layla.”

George and Oliver exchanged a quick glance. A plan formed in their heads. Sometime when Layla was away from the little creature, they would take Marshie up into the mountains to find its real parents.

They shared a knowing, secret smile.

Ten days slipped by, yet George and Oliver never found the right moment.

Every time, they were either helping Layla in the vegetable garden or helping Carson in the cabin.

And Marshic was almost always by Layla’s side..

Now that its leg had fully healed, Marshie hopped and bounded across the farmland, a charming little helper for Layla.

Viewers streaming on Vanguard had quickly fallen in love with the creature.

[How can something this adorable even exist on this planet?]

[I searched every database and found zero records about Marshie. Could it be-a brand-new species that evolved on Planet A13?]

[That makes sense. Hardly anyone knew about Planet A13 before this show started. Everyone just assumed all wildlife here were ordinary beasts.]

[Marshie is so sweet! It helps bayla with all kinds of chores. Now I kind of want to travel to Planet A13 and get one as a pet.]

[Creatures like it are one-of-a-kind. Layla only got it because she had a kind heart and stopped to save it without hesitation.]

[Honestly, I probably would not have risked approaching it, even if I felt bad for it.]

The comment section overflowed with praise for Layla, and she grew slightly flustered reading it. A few viewers were far more curious about their growing crops.

[Are those plants already fully grown? It’s only been a little over ten days!]

[You’re right, I hadn’t noticed. Those bright-red fruits look ripe already.]

[Yeah, those are tomatoes.]

George plucked one plump, red tomato, wiped it clean, and took a big bite.

Sweet-and-sour juice burst across his tongue, rich tomato flavor filling his mouth. His eyes lit up.

He gave Layla a thumbs-up. “This is incredible. I’ve bought tomatoes at the Interstellar Mart before, and none of them tasted half this good.”

Layla shot him a look. “Finish your snack and get back to work. No slacking off.”

George glanced up at the blazing sun overhead and mumbled under his breath, “Once this romance show wraps up, I’m going to spend several days in a skin-repair pod.”

Oliver stared at him with obvious disdain. “Stop being so dramatic.”

George frowned at Oliver, then suddenly realized Oliver’s skin had not roughened at all. It was still smooth.

He gasped out loud, “How come your skin hasn’t gotten even a little rough?”

Oliver had not paid any mind to sun exposure until he heard the jealous tone in George’s voice.
