To the east and north of the primeval forest, with its dense leafy canopy, lay a stretch of low hills covered in jagged rocks.
Halfway up one hill was a natural cave near a clear spring.
While the cave was suitable for daily activities, its openness made it unsafe for sleeping.
In front of the cave stood an old tree with sturdy, thick branches at just the right height. It was perfect for building a treehouse to sleep in.
"This is the spot." Layla nodded with satisfaction.
She set down her belongings and stretched her limbs. Now she needed to build the treehouse as quickly as possible.
Using two branches of the old tree as support beams, she found several sturdy saplings nearby, trimmed their branches, and cut the trunks to create the framework.
The trimmed branches were turned into pegs to secure them.
[Is this for real? Is she building a house in a tree? I heard that's what sky beastmen did in ancient times, but we're in the interstellar age now! People still know how to do this?]
In the interstellar era, there were plenty of beastmen who chose to live in seclusion. Many tourist planets had even developed treehouse lodging projects.
But those treehouses were "portable pre-fab" units, fully equipped with all kinds of high-tech features. All they had to do was pick a tree and place the house on it.
As for primitive, hand-built treehouses, no one had ever seen one, let alone knew how to build one!
The viewers in the livestream watched with wide eyes, not blinking as the treehouse slowly took shape.
A few of Stella's fans who had stuck around occasionally threw out sarcastic comments.
[Look at this attention-seeker building her little shack out of trash. Does she actually think that thing is livable?]
[She couldn't get a stone hut, so she's trying to save face. Stella wouldn't do such manual labor. She'd be worried about her skin!]
But this time, their taunts were met with fierce resistance.
[Manual labor? This is seriously cool wilderness survival! Farewell, you uncultured swine.]
[If you're worried about your skin, you shouldn't be on this show. This is survival, not a vacation! Wearing makeup and skirts here is ridiculous.]
[Catching fish, grilling them, building a treehouse? I'm falling for her!]
[Stella's fans, go back to pampering your spoiled princess. Don't come here barking like mad dogs.]
Surprisingly, Layla gained approval from many viewers, though she remained indifferent.
After completing the frame, she cut down numerous bamboo stalks from a nearby grove.
She split the bamboo, cleaned it, and used it to fill the frame, constructing the main walls of the treehouse.
The tightly arranged bamboo gradually formed the structure.
Now that Layla could fly, she didn't need a ladder. She sealed the bottom of the cabin and added a small balcony for easy access.
Finally, she draped a tent canvas over the treehouse and secured it.
With that, a sturdy treehouse capable of shielding her from wind and rain was nearly complete.
Many viewers in the livestream felt envious, wishing they could move into the charming, tiny treehouse that smelled of wood. That should be interesting.
As the sunset bathed the horizon in gold and red, Layla clapped her hands. "That's enough for now. Time to find something to eat."
Autumn had just begun on Planet A13, with perfect temperatures signaling harvest season for various fruits and vegetables.
While cutting bamboo, Layla discovered a patch of potatoes. After finishing her hut, she tucked her knife into her belt and headed straight to the spot, digging up over ten pounds in one go.
Each potato was as long as her forearm.

What else could it be? Dating, of course!
