The others deftly packed away several large prisms and quickly disappeared from the cave entrance.
Lu Tingyan patted Bai Su.
Bai Su released her Healing Power to treat Lu Tingyan’s wounds while simultaneously enveloping them both in a radiant light, continuously expanding its range like a barrier.
Just as they had expected, not only was the Fei Mo within the light unaffected, but the ferocious beasts slumbering in the surrounding cocoons also showed no signs of being purified.
’This really is strange.’
’If the red gems at the bottom of the Abyss can disperse the black miasma, then the corruption in this cave should be the weakest.’
’My Purification Power shouldn’t be ineffective.’
But the Fei Mo was overjoyed. "Yes, yes, just like that! Glow just like that! The little rabbit is so amazing! Give me more, brighter light!"
Bai Su finally understood why the creature had targeted her.
It turned out that when she was healing them on the spiderweb, the specks of light from her Healing Power had attracted this giant, fluttering moth.
She released even more of her Healing Power, and the Fei Mo was clearly delighted.
The light emanating from the two of them covered the only dark spot in the entire nest.
Seeing its nest glitter and shine, the Fei Mo couldn’t help but cup its face, gazing happily at the two "fluffies" it had just brought back, its eyes sparkling like stars.
"You’re both so adorable! In that case, I won’t eat you right now. I’ll wait until your light disappears completely, and then I’ll eat you. The little rabbit’s fur is so soft, it would make a nice bed covering!"
Lu Tingyan subtly probed, "What are all these cocoons here for?"
The Fei Mo replied, "They’re all my good babies."
Lu Tingyan asked, "What happens if they wake up?"
The Fei Mo giggled, its features scrunching together on its half-human, half-moth face. "They won’t. My children are very obedient. As long as I’m not angry, they won’t wake up."
A flicker of understanding crossed Lu Tingyan’s eyes as he tested it with a few more questions.
Although this Fei Mo had immense spiritual power, it was clearly not very bright.
It wasn’t long before Lu Tingyan had coaxed the information out of it.
It didn’t get angry easily, it loved bright things, and without light, it would die.
Lu Tingyan estimated the time, calculating that the other three should have reached the edge of the cliff by now.
He reached out to hold Bai Su, then said to the Fei Mo, "Is that a black hole that’s opened up over there in your nest?"
"A black hole?!" The Fei Mo cupped its face in terror and rushed in the direction he was pointing, its expression anxious. "Impossible! Where? How could there be a black hole!"
Seizing the opportunity, Lu Tingyan swept Bai Su up into his arms and activated his Instant Teleportation Skill.
In an instant, they teleported a hundred meters away, then another hundred meters beyond that.
In the blink of an eye, they had vanished.
Nestled in his arms, Bai Su continuously replenished his spiritual power, allowing Lu Tingyan to keep using his Instant Teleportation Skill. In less than ten seconds, they had already caught up to the other three, who were about to climb out of the Abyss.
Li Chenlin said, "You’re finally back. Any later and I was going to go back for you."
But Lu Tingyan’s expression was grim. "Run!"
Once the Fei Mo realized they were gone, it would surely become enraged. If all the beasts in that cave awakened, it would be more than they could handle.
Back in the nest, the Fei Mo stomped its feet, annoyed and anxious. "Where is it? Where’s the black hole?"
It turned its head to look for its fluffies, the anxious expression on its face freezing for a moment. "Huh?"
"Li Chenlin!" Bai Su’s pupils contracted, but she was completely unable to move.
None of them were flying-type Beastmen. Falling through the air with no foothold left them completely helpless.
Another muffled thud sounded nearby, followed by the rumbling crash of the sky falling and the earth splitting asunder. It was like the end of the world.
Bai Su felt a wave of despair and let herself fall.
A violent impact.
Bai Su heard their pained grunts. She wasn’t much better off herself. Even with people cushioning her fall, she could still feel the violent impact rattle her internal organs. A metallic, sweet taste uncontrollably surged up her throat and even into her nasal cavity. The brief, drowning sensation of asphyxiation made her curl up instinctively.
’If I’m already in this state, the others must be even worse off.’
Bai Su had no time to think. She instinctively released her Healing Power to protect her own body and the others.
Her body healed rapidly, giving her the strength to get up.
The others’ wounds were also healed. They rose warily to their feet, positioning themselves to guard Bai Su from behind.
"Li Chenlin?" Bai Su shouted frantically. "Li Chenlin!"
The bottom of the cliff was pitch-black; it was impossible to see anything.
Not caring if she would attract the Fei Mo, Bai Su redeemed a giant spotlight from the System Mall and aimed it into the Abyss, barely managing to illuminate an area the size of a soccer field.
Lu Tingyan comforted her, "Don’t worry, Susu. He won’t die that easily. Let’s split up and search!"
Bai Su nodded quickly.
Fortunately, the spot where Li Chenlin had fallen wasn’t far from them. After Bai Su detected his location with her spiritual power, she infused the area with her Healing Ability and healed him.
Only then did Li Chenlin manage to climb out.
